FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH

Via our Farm to School program, local produce will be served and highlighted every day, in every school. Fresh-made salads, using 100% romaine lettuce or spinach, will be offered daily in every school. Through a partnership with InHarvest, we are introducing intact whole grains to the menu, starting with a wheat berry shaker salad! House-made sauces and dressings from scratch will be cooked up by our professional Chefs at DCPS’ Nutrition Services Center, right here in Duval County.

DCPS will continue to participate in an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2016-2017 school year.

Exciting Culinary Innovations

Schools participating in the CEP program are able to provide a healthy breakfast and lunch, each day, at no charge to ALL students enrolled in a CEP school during the 2016-2017 school year.

It’s All About the Students

Chartwells K12 has two food trucks serving secondary schools across the district that will each offer fresh, new culinary-inspired menu offerings this school year. We have partnered with the district to provide educational resources for students that include classroom activities, lessons, and recipes to bring home to parents. Listening to our students is key to the success of these new menus, which will now offer many customizable, made-to-order options, making student choice the focus!

Please visit duvalschools.org for the complete list of CEP sites in our Duval County Public Schools.

live. Chartwells K12 is dedicated to bringing fresh produce grown in DCPS school gardens into our cafes this year, via the Garden Harvest Program that will be piloted in select schools across the district. Through this initiative, Chartwells will “adopt” these schools, and guide them through the process for getting their school garden produce served to students at those schools via samplings and even as toppings on menued items. We are very excited to help this delicious and nutritious produce get “from the garden to the tray.”
