Literacy
Maths
In topic this week we will be focussing on fieldwork and observational skills – children will be exporing the physical and human features of our school. Using compass directions we will create maps of the schools grounds. In literacy this week we will be writing persuasive texts. Following our trip on Friday to Lowestoft south pier, children will be creating their own leaflets persuading tourists to come and visit Lowestoft. We will also be making posters – advertising Lowestoft as a holiday destination that we will display around the school! In maths this week we will be revisiting addition and subtraction. Children will be introduced to the expanded column method as a form of working out.
Messages & dates: All children will bring home a phonics book to read over the week. These are changed every Monday. We will also send home phonics spelling homework each week. Please ensure all children have suitable PE kits in school. Earrings must be removed on PE days. Please try and read daily with your child! Don’t forget your childs class is competing in the whole school reading challenge!!!!
