Happy Half Term We hope you all have a great half term break. Just a reminder that Monday 6th June is an INSET day and we look forward to seeing the children back on Tuesday 7th June. We have lots going on when we come back, so please keep an eye out for letters in your child’s book bag, ParentMail emails, school website and of course the newsletter!. Thank you. Queen’s Birthday Celebrations On Friday 10th June, we will be celebrating the Queen’s birthday. Please can the children wear red, white and blue.
Good Behaviour At Playtime Awards Raffle ticket winners are: 1st— Keysha Ditu & Alyssa Pinner 2nd—Liam Richardson & Jireh Podaan 3rd—Lily Eyers & Cole Wilkinson
You can either bring in a packed lunch or Caterlink will provide lunch as usual, which will also be a picnic. 30,000 Steps and Sports Clothes The children looked very athletic in their sports outfits today. We had a wide range of sports represented from cricketers to gymnasts and martial artists! The children had great fun taking part in their 30,000 step challenge for the ‘Walk the Walk Worldwide’ charity. Thank you to everyone who has sent money in already, so far you have helped raise a whopping £247.10 and a further £160 towards PGL/activity week. You can continue to bring in your sponsor money after half term. School Photographs The proofs have been sent home with your child today. Please can you return your orders by Tuesday 14th June 2016. Breakfast and Afterschool Club Just a reminder that Little Rascals will start their out of school club from Monday 6th June 2016. Breakfast club starts 7.30-9am and afternoon club from 3-6.30pm. Their walking bus will also collect/take infant school children. Grey Cardigans Please can we remind parents that grey cardigans/ jumpers are not part of the Parkgate Junior school uniform. All children should be wearing the burgundy, logo sweatshirt or cardigan which is sold in the school uniform shop. (Tuesdays between 3.15—3.45pm.)
Sports Day A note for your diary—sports day is Friday 1st July. The Infants are at school but we will still be using their grounds. Year 6 Cricket Festival Year 6 had a wonderful day in the glorious sunshine when they took part in the Cricket Festival at Watford Town Cricket Club yesterday. The children were split in to 6 teams. We are not sure of our final place in the tournament but all teams won several games. We are very proud of all our children as they showed great cricket skills, excellent sportsmanship, superb behaviour and above they were very enthusiastic. We would like to thank our teaching staff ,and Mrs Wilson, Mrs Tuffy and Ms Stap for helping out. Congratulation to the following STARS OF THE WEEK

PTA News We hope everyone enjoyed last night’s Discos! Dates for your diary: Friday 17th June 2.30 – 3.30(ish) Cuppa ‘n’ Cake Friday Fundraiser, Saturday 9th July Summer Fair (please look out those wellies, old crockery, bric-a-brac etc over half-term), Saturday 17th September Quiz Night. Have a great half term! School Disco Many thanks to all parents, teachers and the PTA who helped at last nights disco. You raised a fantastic £430 profit towards the PTA fund. Also, thank you to DJ Mike Buckley.
