RACE 3 - SUNDAY, 24 NOVEMBER 2013 PALMS LAWN, ALEXANDRA GARDENS 15.6KM RUN (3 laps) AND 5.2KM RUN (1 lap) STARTS 8:15AM 10.3KM RUN (2 laps) STARTS 9:40AM 5.2KM WALK (1 lap) STARTS 9:42AM With Race 3 of the Skechers Spring into Shape Series being held this Sunday, please read the below participant instructions to ensure you have all the information you need for the event. The event commences at Palms Lawn, Alexandra Gardens (Mel Ref 2F K7). If you have any queries after reading these instructions, please call Start to Finish on (03) 9285 0600. Please note the start times above as well as the number of laps for each event. Your family and friends can still enter: • Online at www.starttofinish.com.au (online entries close at 9:00am on Friday, 22 November) • On day, entries are available from 7:00am at the Entries marquee
n COURSE
cautious on your second lap as you may be running into the back of other runners/walkers. Please listen to instructions given by course marshals. The general public (pedestrians and bike riders) will be using the course, so please be aware you are sharing the footpath with others. Kilometre points will be clearly signed. The course is completed in an anti-clockwise direction. For the safety of all, no dogs, rollerblades, scooters or bikes are allowed.
n RACE NUMBERS
Race numbers will not be sent. You will be able to pick up your race number from the Number Pick up marquee from 7:00am on event day. Anyone without a race number will not be permitted to enter the event.
Due to permit restrictions as well as other events/ activities occurring within the Alexandra Gardens on event day, there will be minor adjustments to the course.
Series participants please note: please keep your race number for all three events. A $5 fee will apply to issue a new race number. You will be allocated a new timing chip at each event.
Course adjustment: The new event distances for Race 2 and 3 are 5.2km, 10.3km and 15.6km. These adjustments will remain for Race 2 and Race 3 of the Series. If you have any queries can you please contact info@ starttofinish.com.au
n ON DAY ENTRIES
The start line for all events will be on Petticoat Lane where the 10km event started for Race 1. The course consists of one, two or three laps (5.2km run/walk one lap, 10.3km run two laps, 15.6km run three laps). Please be

On day entries are accepted on event morning at the Entries marquee. Bring your friends along! Adults are $45, children U/18 are $26 and Health Care Card holders and full time students are $40.
n CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE
If you wish to change your distance for Race 3, please advise a staff member at the Entries marquee, or email info@ starttofinish.com.au by 5pm Thursday, prior to each race, with your name, date of birth and distance you wish to change to.

n WAVE STARTS
There will be two wave starts in each of the 5.2km, 10.3km and 15.6km events. These will be coordinated at the start line on the morning of the event. Running etiquette: please keep to the left if walking, or slower than other runners. Please refrain from using iPods.
n TIMING
The Skechers Spring into Shape Series will be using the Ipico timing system. The shoe tag must be attached to your shoe using the red twists provided in the race kit. This device will be activated once you cross the start line, and again when you cross the finish line. These shoe tags will be collected after the completion of your event. Any shoe tag not returned will incur a $50 replacement cost following the event. Series entrants will be issued a new timing tag at each event.
n AEROBICS WARM-UP
Join the aerobics warm-up in front of the main stage at 8:00am (15.6km and 5.1km run) and 9:25am (10.3km run and 5.2km walk).
n BAG DROP
A bag drop area will be located at the event site for free storage of your clothing during the run/walk. Please do not place any valuables in the bag drop area, as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen. Attach the tear off strip on your race number to your bag by looping the strip around the handle of the bag and through the hole in the end of the strip. Ensure the number on the strip is visible for identification of your bag. Keep your race bib for bag pick up. Clothing bags are also available to write your race number on.
n DRINK STATIONS
n SKECHERS SERIES T-SHIRT
Series entrants will receive a Skechers technical T-shirt. Please make sure that you keep your race number to collect your T-shirt from the Entries marquee. T-shirts will not be mailed out.
n FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Make sure you bring along your picnic blanket and grab a bite to eat after your run/walk. Mocha Monkey will have hot and cold food as well as beverages on offer.
n YOGA
To give you the ultimate race-day experience we’re inviting all participants to join us for a complimentary post-run yoga warmdown held by qualified yoga instructor Ashley. We will have 2 sessions on offer starting at 8.50am and 10.55am with each going for roughly 15 minutes.
n PRESENTATION CEREMONIES
Medals will be awarded to male/female placegetters of the 5.2km, 10.3km and 15.6km run events. The walk is a non-competitive, participation event. There will be no prize for the first walker across the line. To compensate, we reserve more random spot prizes for our walk participants.
n RESULTS AND CERTIFICATES

Drink stations will be located at the start/finish area, near Swan Street Bridge (south side of the river) as well as along Petticoat Lane for 15.6km and 10.3km participants.

St John First Aid will be located at the finish line, and a roving bike crew will be on course. If you need medical attention on the course, please advise a course marshal or drink station attendant.
n RECOVERY AREA/MASSAGE
Sure it would be nice to have your own personal massage therapist…wait, you can! Yes that’s right, the Smooth FM marquee is your FREE post race massage go-to spot. Stop by after your run and massage students from SAGE Institute of Massage will be waiting to flush out your legs and we’ll be on hand to give you a big post-race cheer!
n GIVEAWAY
All participants in the Skechers Spring into Shape Race 3 will receive a Food for Health bar, Emma & Tom’s juice, and a bottle of water – enjoy!

n GETTING THERE
Parking Parking is available in Linlithgow Ave, Alexandra Ave, around The Tan and on St. Kilda Rd. Boathouse Drive will not be available for parking. Please adhere to parking restrictions, and cross at the traffic lights. Public transport Princes Bridge is the main access to Alexandra Gardens from Flinders Street Station. Go to the MetLink Melbourne website www.ptv.vic.gov.au for timetable information for trains and trams to Flinders St. Station.
