PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS RACE 3 - WEDNESDAY, 5 MARCH, 2014 PRINCES PARK, CARLTON 4KM RUN (1 LAP) - 6:50PM | 8KM RUN (2 LAPS) - 7:15PM | 4KM/8KM WALK - 7:20PM Congratulations, you have entered Race 3 of the 2014 Sunset Series, presented by Brooks. The event commences at Princes Park lawn 3, north of VISY Park, Garton St, Carlton. Please note the start times above, as well as the number of laps for each event. Your family and friends can still enter: • Online at www.starttofinish.com.au (online entries close at 12:00noon on Tuesday, 4 March) • On day from 5:30pm at the Entries marquee n SERIES ENTRANTS IMPORTANT: Please remember to keep your race bib for all three races. If you lose/misplace your race bib, a $5 fee will be charged. n RACE KIT COLLECTION You will be able to pick up your race number at the Number Pick Up marquee from 5:30pm. Anyone without an event number will not be permitted to enter the event. RACE NUMBERS WILL NOT BE SENT. n PUBLIC TRANSPORT Trams running along Royal Parade are the main access to Princes Park, and the nearest train station is Royal Park. Go to Public Transport Victoria website: http://ptv.vic. gov.au/or timetable information for trains and trams.
n CAR PARKING Limited parking is available around Princes Park, and surrounding streets. Please adhere to parking restrictions and be aware of peak hour traffic congestion. Be sure to leave enough time to park your car and walk to the assembly area. n ON DAY ENTRIES On day entries are accepted on the event evening at the Entries marquee. Cost $45 adults, $40 Concession, $26 children. Prices are for the single event only. NO REFUNDS. n WAVE STARTS There will be two wave starts for the 4km runners, and three wave starts for the 8km runners. n TIMING The Sunset Series, presented by Brooks, will be using the Ipico timing system. The shoe tag must be attached to your shoe using the ties provided in the race kit. This device will be activated once you cross the start line, and again when you cross the finish line. These shoe tags will be collected after the completion of your event. Any shoe tag not returned will incur a $50 replacement fee following the event. Series entrants will be re-issued timing tags at each event.

PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS n AEROBICS WARM-UP Aerobics warm-ups will commence from the main stage prior to each event at 6:40pm (4km run), and 7:05pm (8km run, and 4km/8km walkers). n CLOTHING BAGS The clothing area will have bags and storage for clothing. To minimise time in queues, come prepared with your own bag. Your race number needs to be written in large letters on the bottom of a clear plastic bag. Do not leave any valuables in clothing bags; we cannot accept responsibility for the loss of any valuables. n FOOD & BEVERAGES Thanks to the good people at Mr Burger and Banh Mi Boys you won’t need to worry about your post run hunger fix! You’ll also be able enjoy a refreshment at our Sunset Bar. n DRINK STATIONS Drink stations will be located in the assembly area, and on course. n FIRST AID St John First Aid will be located at the finish line, and a roving bike crew will be on course. If you need medical attention on the course, please advise a course marshal. n TOILETS Toilets are located a short walk from the assembly area at Visy Park eastern side of Gate 5. n BROOKS SERIES T-SHIRT For those yet to claim their Brooks T-Shirt, you can still do so on-day. Size are now limited to mainly large and xtra-large. n PRESENTATION CEREMONIES Medals will be awarded to male/ female placegetters of the 4km and 8km run events. The walk is a noncompetitive, participation event. There will be no prize for the first walker across the line. n CONTINGENCY Start to Finish, in the interest of participant safety, reserves the right to alter the course and/ or event site and event times without notice. n CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE If you wish to change your distance for Race 3, please advise a staff member at the Entries marquee, or email

n COURSE The course consists of one or two laps (4km one lap, 8km two laps of the Tan Track). Please be cautious on your second lap as you may be running into the back of other runners/walkers. Please listen to instructions given by course marshals. Please keep to the left if walking, or slower than other runners. Kilometre points will be clearly signed. There will be general public using the course, so please be
aware you are sharing the footpath with others. Please note: Public may be using the course to gain access to the Moonlight Cinema. For the safety of all, NO DOGS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES ALLOWED. For your own safety, please ensure you eat and drink adequately during the day of the event.
