Principal Notes…August 4, 2017
Welcome Back!!! o Maconaquah Elementary staff would like to welcome back all of our returning students for the 2017-18 school year. We would also welcome all new students this year. Note From the Nurse o Parents, please remember if your child has a food allergy that the cafeteria needs to make any substitution for such as, a peanut allergy or milk allergy, we are required to have a note from the doctor stating this each school year. Please send those in to the school nurse and she will make sure the cafeteria receives them. Student Handbook o We ask that all parents and students please read through the Maconaquah Elementary Parent/Student Handbook. You can find this on the Maconaquah Elementary School website. Morning Drop Off o If you are dropping your students off for school in the morning, please remember that students are to enter through door 19E by the gym. The doors will open at 8:15 and students are considered tardy at 8:30. Please park in a parking spot if your arrive prior to 8:15, this helps with traffic flow at Mac EL. Afternoon Pick Up o Students are dismissed at 3:15pm. If you are planning to pick your child up from school rather than them riding the bus, we ask that you do not block traffic if you arrive before 3:15. If you arrive early please park in one of the parking spots so that cars can leave the parking lot if they need to prior to 3:15. Important Dates o August 7 – Mac EL On The Road @ Eagles Pointe (Shaw Park) from 5:00-6:00PM. o August 9 – PTO Meeting from 3:30-4:30 in the Mac EL Group Room. o August 14 – Mac EL On The Road @ McGrawsville United Methodist Church from 5:006:00PM. o August 16 – School Picture Day Mac El is now on Twitter! Follow us @Macelbraves. There is additional information on how to create a twitter account. If you do not want a Twitter account, you can still get the information and tweets via text messages to your phone by texting 40404 and sending follow @Macelbraves.
