Ray White Longreach Sale Highlights
A yarding of just over 4000 head meet a reasonable market on good fat cattle and a tough market on backward condition stores. With only 30 Bullocks over 600kg yarded, the top to156c/kg returned $1175/Hd. Bullocks 500-600kg topping at 153c/kg. A large yarding of feeder weight cattle available but a lot of out of spec cattle held the market back, with the best of the feeders to 164c/kg. A large yarding of 400-520kg cows had a sale high of 133c/kg with cows averaging 122c/kg. Heavy heifers 400kg+ to slaughter made 153c/kg. Large numbers of stores just aching to eat green grass filled the lanes and sold to a tough market with a big percentage of Western Queensland and New South Wales very dry. Very isolated sales in steers made to 183c/kg and heifers to 163c/kg. An aged pen of Brahman Cows with good Calves at foot had a sale of $517.50.
