About the Nittany Lions
About the Saints
• Penn State has had a nine-day break since going 1-0-1 in a two-game series against College Hockey America foe Lindenwood.
• The Saints are the only unbeaten team in the nation, have won 10 straight games and are off to their best start in program history. They’ve matched the program record unbeaten streak at 14 games, which was set by the 2005-06 squad that started the year 12-0-2. With two wins against Penn State, St. Lawrence would tie to program record for consecutive wins.
• The Nittany Lions are led by seniors Laura Bowman, who has 10 goals and 10 assists, and Amy Peterson, who has nine goals and nine assists. • Peterson has been especially effective on special teams, with four power play goals and two shorthanded tallies. • Brooke Madsen has had a big impact as a first-year player. She is ranked 10th nationally in freshman scoring with 0.79 points per game and is second in the nation in her class with 10 assists. • Rookie Daniela Paniccia has started in goal in nine of Penn State’s 14 games this year. She has a 1.93 goals against average and a .936 save percentage with three shutouts. • Entering this week’s two-game series, Penn State has played just four games at Pegula Ice Arena this season, going 1-1-2 at home. - St. Lawrence University Quick Facts -
• The team also has the program record for wins to start the ECAC Hockey schedule at eight. St. Lawrence has shut out six conference opponents and allowed just two goals in eight games. • St. Lawrence shut out Yale and Brown over the weekend. Yale had been the nation’s top-scoring offense with 3.88 goals per game entering the weekend. • Nadine Edney had her first career hat trick in the Yale game, and Grace Harrison made a season-high 30 saves to post her fifth shutout of the season. She is now one shutout shy of tying the St. Lawrence record for shutouts in a season.

About Head Coach Chris Wells ’92
The Penn State Seriesop
• Wells returned to his alma mater as assistant hockey coach for the men’s team in the 1999-2000 season after a stint behind the bench at Western Michigan University in the CCHA. He was named Associate Head Coach of the men’s hockey team in January of 2003.
• St. Lawrence holds a 4-0-0 record against Penn State, with the first meeting taking place in 2012. This year’s two-game series will mark the first meeting at Pegula Ice Arena. All four previous meetings were at Appleton Arena in Canton.
• He took over the reins of the St. Lawrence University women’s hockey team for the 2008-09 season. He guided the team to the 2009 NCAA Tournament and a 24-113 record, and three years later, led the team to its first ECAC Hockey Tournament title and was named the 2012 AHCA National Coach of the Year.
• Brooke Webster extended her point streak to 17 games with three assists in two games over the weekend. The last team to keep Webster off the score sheet was Princeton in the first game of the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals on Feb. 26, 2016.
• Wells began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Colgate University following a European professional career. He has also served the University as director of the St. Lawrence summer sports programs and a co-director of the Saints Summer Hockey School.

Webster Streak One Game Shy of Record
• Webster enters Monday’s game at Penn State one game shy of the program record, set by Emilie Berlinguette ’06, who scored in 18 straight games from Nov. 24, 2004 Feb. 26, 2005. Berlinguette did not play two games after the first game of that streak, so Webster has already tied the streak for most consecutive team games with a point.
Streaking Saints Can Thank Stingy Defense • Since a 3-3 tie with Clarkson on Oct. 8, the Saints have won 10 straight games. During that run, St. Lawrence has allowed a total of just four goals with six shutouts. No opponent has scored more than one goal during the streak, and the Saints are now the only team in the nation allowing an average of less than one goal allowed per game. • The penalty kill has been a key component of the tough defense. The Saints have not allowed a goal in 24 consecutive power play opportunities over the last nine games. The Saints penalty kill is also the best in the nation with a 94.1 percent kill rate. The penalty kill unit is just -1 on the season (3 PPG allowed, 2 SHG scored).

“Gold” Line Producing Results
Second 200+ Minutes Scoreless Streak
• The Saints top line of Hannah Miller, Brooke Webster and Kennedy Marchment is one of the most difficult in the nation to defend. The trio has scored 22 goals and has a combined 64 points in 14 games, an average of 1.57 goals and 4.57 points per game.
• Earlier this season, the Saints held opponents scoreless for 226 minutes, 15 seconds. Grace Harrison played every minute during that streak, which was a program record for an individual goaltender.
• Webster and Marchment both have seven multi-point games this season, while Miller has more than one point in three contests.
Other Players Getting in on the Scoring, Too • While the gold line has been the most productive, the Saints have had a number of other players step up to lead the way offensively in recent games, as well. • Nadine Edney notched her first career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Yale and is now tied for third on the team with six goals. • Kirsten Padalis scored two goals and added two assists in a 5-0 win over Brown for her first career four-point game. • Webster, Marchment, Padalis, Justine Reyes, Amanda McClure and Kayla Vespa all have at least four points over the last four games.
Harrison Having Breakout Season • Grace Harrison is having one of the best seasons for a goaltender in St. Lawrence history. • She has five shutouts, one shy of the program record. • Earlier this season, she broke the program record for longest shutout streak at 226 minutes, 15 seconds. She made 75 consecutive saves during the run. • Entering the two-game set with Penn State, she ranks second nationally with a 1.08 goals against average and third with a .950 save percentage.
Wolejko, Shelly Still Perfect in Backup Roles • Brooke Wolejko and Sonjia Shelly have both played approximately half a game twice, as head coach Chris Wells gave Wolejko the start against both Union and Brown, then switched to Shelly halfway through the second period. • Neither have allowed a goal, with Wolejko totaling 19 saves and Shelly stopping 14 shots.
• Entering the two-game series with Penn State, St. Lawrence has not allowed a goal for more than 10 consecutive periods, a span of 204:49. Harrison played 84:49 of that stretch, while Brooke Wolejko and Sonjia Shelly combined for the other 120 minutes. • The program record, set in the 2001-02 season, is 265:52, meaning the team will be on minute, three seconds shy of tying the record if they shut out Penn State on Monday, unless the game goes into overtime as a scoreless tie. • St. Lawrence has shut out three consecutive opponents, include Yale, which had led the nation with 3.88 goals per game entering that contest. St. Lawrence has only had three straight shutouts in other time in program history, in November, 2001. The team has never had four straight.
