The Salisbury Post Friday 8th July
Summer Fair Success! A big thank you to the PTFA for organising and running the Summer Fair. It was fabulous! It was no easy task with all the challenges for space in the playground and school but they did it. It was lovely to see so many of you supporting the event after school! During the day the children all had the opportunity to go on the bouncy castle for free which they thoroughly enjoyed! ‘Best day ever’ was heard to be commented on more than one occasion. We really do appreciate the support the PTFA gives the school and the money they raised always goes directly to support activities and resources for the children.
A Message from the PTFA "A big thank you to everyone who helped out at the Summer Fair - thanks to you all it was
possible to hold this event! Also a massive thank you to everyone donated toys, lucky bags and cakes in the morning - and to everyone who came and supported the Fair. The money we raised will go towards "subsidised school trips, educational events, learning resources and play equipment and more"
This Year’s school reporTs To parenTs We wanted to let you know that reports will be sent home on Friday 15th July. Due to the fact that some of the children in years 5 and 6 will be coming back from Grenville house on that day we will be handing them out as you collect your children from the bus.
So please don’t leave without them!

Multi Academy Trust Update Following my letter earlier this term, I can confirm that our conversion to Academy status and partnership with Learning Academies Trust is still underway. We are currently working with the city legal and HR teams to ensure all the paperwork is completed. We still plan to convert on October 1st 2016. I will update you early in the Autumn Term as we move towards our conversion date. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact me, or look at our Academy section on the school website. Brickfields and year 3/4 athletics event. Eighteen children from years 3,4,5 and 6 took part in a city wide athletics event involving 60 schools. All of our children competed to a very high standard in both track and field events. Three children, Sam (Y4) Freya (Y4) and Chelsea (Y5) made it through to the track finals finishing in third and fourth place. For the first time in a long time a pupil from Salisbury Road— Ellie (Y6) - won a gold in the vertical jump. This is an outstanding achievement for Ellie and the school. The following week 16 year 3 and 4 children took part in a sports day at Lipson. All the children were fantastic at the event. One team finished in 4th place (out of 8) and the other team finished first! Another fantastic achievement by the very talented younger children in our school.
