Athlete and/or Coach Throws Clinic When: Wednesday (Shot Put) June 7 and Thursday (Discus) June 8. Where: Lake Park High School West Campus. 500 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Roselle, IL 60172. We will meet in the front entrance and walk to the classrooms so please be on time. What: Shot Put Clinic from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday June 7. Discus Clinic from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday June 8. Who: This clinic is for athletes ages 8-18 and/or coaches that would like to learn more about the throws. The athletes will be broken into three different groups: beginner, intermediate and advanced if numbers dictate. Tentative Schedule: 4pm – 4:40 Classroom Presentation 4:40-5:20 Practice on Track 5:20-6 Classroom Presentation 6-6:40 Practice on Track 6:40-7:20: Classroom Presentation 720-8 Practice on Track

Format: We will start with going through a full throw in the classroom and the main pieces you need. We will then progress to moving to drill work and throwing to achieve the positions shown in the classroom. Upon leaving this clinic you will have a firm grasp of new drills that will help you throw farther and the positions you must be in to throw further. Cost: $50 per day per athlete or coach. Lead Instructor: Scott Bennett has 35 years coaching experience at the collegiate level. During that time he has

coached 5 Olympians, multiple NCAA champions with the most notable in shot being Andy bloom who threw 71'9 shot and 227' discus. On the girls side he had Aretha Thurmond throw 216 feet in discus. Last year he had two athletes that have thrown over 60 feet in shot and 1 athlete over 180 in discus in his first year at Lake Park. Registration: Signup online at www.dupagetrackclub.org and follow directions. Enrollment will be on a first come first serve basis. The limit of athletes will be 15 to make sure we have small group training. Deadline for signing up will be Friday June 2. There will be no limit for the number of coaches to sign up. Filming: No filming of the clinic will be allowed.
