The APEX Fun Run was a fun event for everyone. The kids had a great time and thank you to our parent volunteers. Homework folders will be going home today. The inside of the folder includes usernames/ids and passwords for Math Facts in a Flash and Rosetta. Homework is due every Monday. We have our first field trip on October 3rd to Fog Willow Farms. Forms and donations are due: Sept. 19th. We will need drivers for this field trip. Please see the office as soon as possible about any items you need to clear before this field trip. 77 have been very focused on their work The students plans. We are starting to get into a groove and routines are running more smoothly. I continue adding jobs rt to the work plans as we cover new lessons. I continue to give refresher lessons in Static and Dynamic Math, Spelling lessons, Language (compound words) and Grammar (Capitalization and the Noun Key Experience using our miniature environment), and Geometry (Solids and Bases; Geometric Cabinet). We finished the week listening to Concerto 3 by J.S. Bach. The students enjoyed listening to this allegro (happy/upbeat) composition Sue and her pug, Oliver, came from the SPCA to discuss how to be safe around stray dogs, read a dog’s body language and introduce yourself to a “stranger” dog. This presentation was very educational for all. * Thank you for the donations thus far. It is so helpful when parents like you take the time to fill the needs of our classroom and students. I deeply appreciate you for this. “We must help the child to act for himself, will for himself, think for himself; this is the art of those who aspire to serve the spirit.”
