Dear parents, carers, colleagues and friends of the school
I am pleased to be able to send you the report of Her Majesty’s Inspector (HMI) Janet Lunn, who recently inspected the school in behalf of Ofsted. The purpose of the inspection was to determine if leaders and governors were taking effective action to bring the school rapidly back to a good or better standard (the word good is in italics because it is a category used by Ofsted to describe schools). The report says that all parties are working effectively together to bring about the required improvements. It stresses the value of the cooperation between school leaders, staff, the Interim Executive Board, the local authority and Reach4. For example: “A major factor in securing the future capacity of this school has been the collaboration of support provided by all parties to ensure high quality sustainable leadership. With this now in place things are beginning to improve at a much quicker pace, with impact being noticed by parents, staff and pupils.” We are pleased that Ofsted has confirmed that the quality improvement work has begun. We all know that there is much more to do to ensure that the school provides the excellent education that we all want for your children. Leaders and governors will not rest until the school is once again the excellent school that we all know it can be. I thank Mrs Wheldon and all the staff team for the dedicated work that they are doing to secure improvements. If you would like to discuss the report or on any aspect of your children’s education, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Mrs Wheldon or myself. The easiest way to contact the IEB is by email (
[email protected]) but the school office can help you get in touch with us if you prefer talk face to face or by phone. Best wishes to you and to your children. David Fox Chair of the Interim Executive Board (IEB)
