Telling the time A simple way to tell the time is to just read the numbers in pairs

10.20 (ten twenty)‫‏‬

We use ‘o’clock’ on the hour

4.00 (four o’clock)‫‏‬

We also use ‘past’ and ‘to’ when using minutes

6.20 (twenty past six) 8.50 (ten to eight)

We use ‘past’ until half ‘past’ the hour (+30 mins)
