Telling the time A simple way to tell the time is to just read the numbers in pairs
10.20 (ten twenty)
We use ‘o’clock’ on the hour
4.00 (four o’clock)
We also use ‘past’ and ‘to’ when using minutes
6.20 (twenty past six) 8.50 (ten to eight)
We use ‘past’ until half ‘past’ the hour (+30 mins)

I go to work at 8.30 am. She has dinner at 7 o’clock. He studies English at 4.30 pm on Mondays. I like to go swimming on Wednesday at 6.30 pm.
