KIDS & FAMILIES FAMILY BRIDGE | 3.19.2017 a weekly resource to connect church and home
What your child did this Sunday: Nursery & Preschool: We read and discussed the Ten Commandments, Jesus Storybook Bible pg. 99-107 (Exodus 20:1-17), and God's perfection is our love and devotion, not never making a mistake.
School aged children:
We read about us all being a part of Jesus' family, Mark 3:31-35, and the best way to be a part of Jesus' family is to love like Jesus loved.
What you can do at home this week: Read Exodus 20:1-17 and Mark 3:31-35 in a children's bible or translation. Discuss the details of each story, imagining how the people felt when they heard the ten commandments or that Jesus included each of them in his family. Think about your family and what "rules" you have. These can include bed times, chores and how you treat one another. Pray together as a family: Thank you God for the love of family. Thank you for guiding us with how to best love you and one another. Amen.

READ: John 14:5-6 (NIV) 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

DISCUSS
DISCUSS: Discuss how we feel when alone in the dark, or a time when you were lost. How does faith in Jesus help? Share a time you were lost and your faith guided you through. DO: Play a game of hide and seek in the dark (inside or outside). Let the finder use a flashlight! Discuss the ease the light provided. Our faith is the same when we are lost in the dark.

PRAY:Dear guiding God, thank you for your light that shines our way. Forgive us when we lose our way and lead us always to your will. Amen.
