HISTORY WITH THE HUSKIES • This weekend will mark the 53rd and 54th meetings between BU and Northeastern. • The Terriers are 31-16-5 all-time against the Huskies, including a 12-9-1 record at Walter Brown Arena. • BU is 11-7-2 at Matthews Arena. • The Terriers have won at least one game each year against the Huskies.

BEST OF BU AGAINST THE HUSKIES • Victoria Bach has tallied 14 points (7g, 7a) against the Huskies in her three-year career. • Rebecca Leslie has notched a teambest eight assists against Northeastern in addition to her two goals against the Huskies for 10 total points. • Seven other Terriers have recorded at least one point against NU, including multi-point scorers Nina Rodgers (1g, 2a), Natasza Tarnowski (1g, 1a) and Savannah Newton (2a). • Erin O’Neil is 4-3 in seven starts against the Huskies with a .912 save percentage. SCOUTING THE HUSKIES • Northeastern opened its regularseason schedule last weekend when it hosted top-ranked and defending national champion Clarkson. • The Huskies and Golden Knights battled to a 1-1 tie on Friday before Clarkson came away with a 5-1 victory on Saturday. • Senior Shelby Herrington tallied two points (1g, 1a) against Clarkson, one of five Huskies with at least one point. • Junior goaltender Brittany Bugalski started both games, making 22 saves in Friday’s tie before stopping just six shots on Saturday.

LAST TIME AGAINST NORTHEASTERN • The Huskies and the Terriers met in one of last year’s Hockey East semifinal matchups at Walter Brown Arena, with Northeastern scoring twice in the final frame to earn a 2-1 win on March 4. • Victoria Bach scored the lone Terrier goal to give her team a 1-0 advantage after two periods of play. REAGAN NOT RUSTY IN DEBUT • Junior Reagan Rust scored her first goal as a Terrier on Sept. 23 against Merrimack. • It was her first goal since she lit the lamp for RIT against Syracuse on Feb. 17, 2017. • Two of her three goals from last season came on the power play, as did her marker against Merrimack. NEWCOMERS ALWAYS START STRONG • Thanks to Reagan Rust’s goal on Sept. 23, a Terrier newcomer has now recorded a point in each of the last four seasonopeners. • Seven of the eight newcomers played against Merrimack, with freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder serving as the backup netminder.

2017-18 boston university Women’s ice hockey @TerrierWHockey SPEAKING OF DEBUTS • If freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder plays either game this weekend against No. 8 Northeastern, she will be the second consecutive Terrier netminder to make her collegiate debut against a ranked opponent. • Erin O’Neil started at No. 1 Minnesota in her BU debut in October of 2014. BACH TO BUSINESS • Senior Victoria Bach led the Terriers with 49 points last year and is on pace to once again be a major part of the Terrier offense. • Bach recorded the primary assist on Reagan Rust’s goal against Merrimack. • Going back to last year, Bach has notched a point in three of the last four games overall and nine of the Terriers’ last 10 regular-season contests. FROM DEFENSE TO OFFENSE • Two of the Terriers’ three points on Sept. 23 came from defensemen. • Junior Reagan Rust, who also played forward during her two seasons at RIT, scored while sophomore Abby Cook provided one of the two assists. • Last year, nearly 20 percent of the Terriers’ point production came from the blue line. O’NEIL ON HER GAME • Senior Erin O’Neil certainly did her part in the Terriers’ 2-1 loss to Merrimack on Sept. 23. • O’Neil made 30 saves and did not allow an even-strength goal. • Merrimack scored a 5-on-3 goal and a 5-on-4 goal. • She has been particularly good at home against league opponents, having allowed just 1.85 goals per game over her last seven starts.

CAN’T KEEP BU OFF THE BOARD • BU was one of just two teams in the nation to not be shut out last season. • The only other team? Reigning national champion Clarkson. • The Terriers have only been shut out once over the last two seasons, a 5-0 loss to No. 1 Boston College in the Hockey East title game. • They have not been held scoreless in a regular-season game since Feb. 19, 2015, when they lost 5-0 to BC. A NEW FACE BEHIND THE BU BENCH • With the departure of assistant coaches Allison Coomey (Penn State) and Katie Lachapelle (Holy Cross), the Terriers will have new assistants for the first time since the 2008-09 season. • Liz Keady Norton joined the staff after spending the past two seasons as an assistant at Harvard. • A 2008 graduate of Princeton, Keady was also an assistant at Union.

DUROCHER NAMED ONE OF NEW ENGLAND’S MOST INFLUENTIAL • The New England Hockey Journal released a list of the 100 most influential people in New England hockey, and head coach Brian Durocher made that list. • Durocher, who will enter his 13th season behind the BU bench in 201718, has been one of the most successful coaches in women’s hockey during his time at BU. • He won his 250th game last year and has taken the Terriers to two national title games in addition to winning five Hockey East championships. TERRIER TRIO TAKEN IN NWHL DRAFT • Three Terrier seniors were selected in this summer’s NWHL Draft. • Victoria Bach was the first Terrier off the board, going seventh overall to the New York Riveters. • Nina Rodgers followed when the Connecticut Whale chose her with the 17th overall pick. • Rebecca Leslie went two picks later at 19th, joining Bach as a Riveters selection. • All three players will be eligible to play in the NWHL after this season. • No other school in the nation had more players taken in this year’s NWHL draft than BU.

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN • Senior Rebecca Leslie will serve as captain for the 2017-18 season. • She is the 14th captain in program history. LESLIE WILL HAVE SOME HELP • Three Terriers were named assistant captains for the upcoming season. • Seniors Victoria Bach and Erin O’Neil will wear letters on their sweaters this year. • Junior Sammy Davis was also selected as an assistant captain, though she will miss the entire season due to injury. NEW TEAM, NEW FACES • BU will welcome six freshmen and two transfers to the squad for the 2017-18 campaign. • Five forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender comprise the incoming group of players. TALKING ABOUT THE TRANSFERS • The Terriers will have two new defensemen this year, both of whom have experience at the Division I level. • Junior Reagan Rust played two seasons at RIT, accumulating 32 points (8g, 24a) during her time with the Tigers. • Rust was a CHA All-Rookie selection as a freshman after she recorded 18 points on five goals and 13 assists.

2017-18 boston university Women’s ice hockey @TerrierWHockey • Redshirt sophomore Abbey Stanley played 33 games last season at North Dakota, scoring two goals and adding four assists for six points. TRANSFERS TYPICALLY SUCCESSFUL • BU has a rich history of players that transferred to BU and immediately had success on the ice. • Most recently, Nina Rodgers (Minnesota) debuted for the Terriers and had a career year with 31 points (11g, 20a). • In addition to Rodgers, Mary Parker shined last year at BU after she exhausted her eligibility at Harvard. • Parker led the Terriers with 24 goals and also added 21 assists for 45 points. NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK • Five of the six freshmen will skate at forward for the Terriers. • Two of those players - Nara Elia and Jesse Compher - played in the 2017 IIHF Women’s World Under-18 Championship. • Compher won gold with the United States while Elia claimed silver with Canada. • Lauren Klein tallied 59 points (33g, 26a) during a post-grad year with Northwood School in 2016-17, while Kristina Schuler and Rachel Allen both shined as senior captains at their respective high schools prior to arriving at BU. • The lone non-forward of the group is goaltender Corinne Schroeder, who also won silver with Canada’s Under-18 Team at the 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship. • Schroeder also posted a .926 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against average in 15 games during her 2016-17 season with Balmoral Hall. SOMEONE SHOULD STAND OUT • It won’t be surprising if a Terrier rookie makes an immediate impact. • At least one BU freshman has been named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in each of the last nine seasons. • Abby Cook was the latest Terrier to receive that particular recognition. STRONG GROUP OF RETURNING PLAYERS • Fifteen letter winners return from last year’s Terrier roster, including sophomore Katie Shannahan, who will make her Terrier debut this season after missing

the previous season due to injury. • The other seven defensemen this year have played key minutes in Division I women’s hockey, including transfers Reagan Rust (RIT) and Abbey Stanley (North Dakota). • Senior Savannah Newton is the most experienced Terrier blue liner this season; she recorded a career-high 11 assists last year and has played in 85 career games at BU. • Junior Connor Galway also posted career-high point totals, recording one goal and six assists for seven points. • Three sophomores will be back for BU on defense, led by Hockey East AllRookie selection Abby Cook, who led BU as a plus-18 a year ago and also tallied four goals and 11 assists. • Breanna Scarpaci (1g, 2a) and Alexandra Calderone (2a) played all 37 games for BU last year, combining for just 12 penalties. • At forward, three of the Terriers’ top five scorers return in seniors Victoria Bach, Rebecca Leslie and Nina Rodgers. • Bach led Hockey East a year ago with a career-high 49 points thanks to a team-best 26 assists in addition to a career-high 23 goals. • Leslie finished last season with 34 points (16g, 18a) while Rodgers posted career highs in goals (11), assists (20) and points (31). • Two sophomores - Deziray De Sousa and Natasza Tarnowski - will look to improve upon strong debut campaigns. • De Sousa tallied 11 points (2g, 9a) while Tarnowski finished with seven points (3g, 4a). • Joining them up front will be junior Mary Grace Kelley, who provides speed along the wings and totaled three points (2g, 1a) a year ago. • Senior goaltender Erin O’Neil earned wins over two eventual Frozen Four participants in Boston College and Minnesota last year, and has a career record of 30-15-5. In 55 career games, • O’Neil has posted a 2.99 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage, and she has also won three playoff games during her Terrier career. • Senior Ashlyn Aiello will also return for the Terriers in 2017-18. • While she did not make an appearance last year, Aiello owns a perfect save percentage of 1.000 during her time between the pipes at BU.
