RIVALRY RENEWED • The Boston University women’s ice hockey team will welcome No. 3 Boston College to Walter Brown Arena on Saturday. • Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. CLOSE PROXIMITY, CLOSE GAMES • BU and BC have played some close games of late. • Six of the last seven meetings between the B-line rivals have been decided by two goals or fewer. • The last time these two teams skated at Walter Brown, BU scored five times in the third period to earn a 5-3 victory over the Eagles on Nov. 5. HISTORY WITH THE EAGLES • Saturday is the 49th all-time meeting between BU and BC. • The Terriers are 17-25-6 all-time against the Eagles, including a 7-11-2 record at Walter Brown Arena. • The teams split last year’s Hockey East series, with both squads earning a 5-3 home victory before settling for a 1-1 tie at BC on Jan. 7. • BC escaped with a 3-2 win in the opening

BEST OF BU AGAINST BC • Nina Rodgers leads all current Terriers with four goals against the Eagles in addition to an assist for five points. • Rebecca Leslie is tied with Rodgers with five points thanks to a team-best five assists. • Victoria Bach has notched two goals and two assists while Deziray De Sousa (1g, 1a) has also recorded multiple points against BC. • Natasza Tarnowski and Abby Cook each recorded a helper last year as freshmen against the Eagles. • Erin O’Neil made 34 saves in last year’s win over BC and went 1-1-0 against the Eagles last year. EYEING THE EAGLES • BC is 4-0-1 this season, most recently skating away from Vermont with a 4-2 victory on Sunday after settling for a 2-2 tie at UConn earlier that weekend. • Freshman Daryl Watts enters the weekend tied for the NCAA lead with 14 points thanks to six goals and eight assists through five games. • Watts is tied for the league lead in both goals and assists, with teammate Caitrin Lonergan also entering the weekend with six goals. • Senior goaltender Katie Burt has started all five games for BC, posting a .929 save percentage and a 1.97 goalsagainst average. ANOTHER GOOD GOALIE ON TAP • The Eagles’ Katie Burt will be the third straight goaltender with a sub-2.00 goals-against average that the Terriers will face. • BU went up against Maine’s Carly Jackson (1.81 GAA) and UConn’s Annie Belanger (1.22 GAA) last weekend, scoring twice on Jackson and six times on Belanger. • Burt enters the weekend with a 1.97 goals-against average. ALWAYS GOOD TO GET THAT FIRST WIN • BU ended its four-game losing streak this past Sunday with a convincing 6-2
win over UConn at Walter Brown Arena. • Senior captain Rebecca Leslie notched her second collegiate hat trick as part of a four-point day. • Classmate Victoria Bach (1g, 3a) also had four points while another senior, Nina Rodgers, recorded multiple points thanks to a goal and an assist. • Freshman Nara Elia also lit the lamp. • In total, 10 Terriers tallied at least one point, with junior Reagan Rust, sophomores Abby Cook and Natasza Tarnowski, freshman Jesse Compher and senior Savannah Newton all tallying one assist apiece. • Freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder made her first collegiate start and stopped 26 shots while also assisting on Nara Elia’s goal. • Four of the Terriers’ six goals against UConn came on special teams (3 PPG, 1 SHG). • BU held the Huskies to just four shots on goal in the third period. SCHROEDER SHINES IN DEBUT • Freshman Corinne Schroeder was outstanding in her first start as a Terrier on Sunday against UConn. • She made 26 saves to become the first Terrier netminder to win her first collegiate start since Braly Hiller on Oct. 15, 2011.

2017-18 boston university Women’s ice hockey @TerrierWHockey LESLIE LIGHTS THE LAMP • Senior Rebecca Leslie recorded her second collegiate hat trick on Sunday against UConn as part of a four-point afternoon. • She also scored three goals on Nov. 18, 2016 at Merrimack. • Her four points on Sunday were her first four of the season. • That aforementioned game at Merrimack was also Leslie’s last fourpoint effort.
at just 69.6%. • UConn was ranked 34th when it went against BU on Sunday, and is now 36th.
RECENT HAT TRICK HISTORY • Victoria Bach was the last Terrier to record a hat trick prior to Sunday, doing so on Jan. 21, 2017 in a 5-5 tie at Providence. • That was one of six Terrier hat tricks last season by five different skaters. • Samantha Sutherland (‘17) had the last Terrier hat trick at home prior to Sunday, accomplishing that feat on Sept. 25, 2016 against Providence.
CAN’T KEEP BU OFF THE BOARD • BU was one of just two teams in the nation to not be shut out last season. • The only other team? Reigning national champion Clarkson. • The Terriers have only been shut out once over the last two seasons, a 5-0 loss to No. 1 Boston College in the Hockey East title game. • They have not been held scoreless in a regular-season game since Feb. 19, 2015, when they lost 5-0 to BC.
BACH TO BUSINESS • Senior Victoria Bach led the Terriers with 49 points last year and currently leads BU in goals (3), assists (4) and points (7). • Bach recorded four points (1g, 3a) in the Terriers’ 6-2 win on Sunday. • Her three assists and four points both matched single-game highs. • She previously notched four points against Ohio State on Nov. 29, 2015. • It was Bach’s third three-assist effort of her career, with the last such game coming against Providence on Jan. 22. • Bach now has a goal in each of her last three games and she has secured a point in four of the Terriers’ five games this season. • Going back to last year, Bach has notched a point in six of the last eight games overall and 12 of the Terriers’ last 14 regular-season contests.
TERRIERS STRONG ON PK, TOO • BU scored its first shorthanded goal of the year on Sunday. • The Terriers also held UConn to just one power-play goal in six tries. • BU has scored at least one shorthanded goal in each of its 13 seasons as a Division I program.

NARA NOT TO BE STOPPED • Freshman Nara Elia has been outstanding in her first season, having now lit the lamp in three of her first five games after her first-period goal during Sunday’s 6-2 win over UConn. • Elia scored in both of the Terriers’ games last weekend and enters Saturday’s tilt with BC tied for the team lead in goals with three. • She is tied for 10th among NCAA rookies and tied for third among league freshmen with three goals. • Her .333 shooting percentage is thirdhighest among all NCAA freshmen. SPREADING THE WEALTH • Eleven different Terriers have recorded at least two points this season. • That list includes five of the team’s eight newcomers. • Three Terriers - senior Victoria Bach, freshman Nara Elia and senior Rebecca Leslie - each have a team-best three goals while nine different players have at least two assists. • Even freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder has tallied an assist, one of four netminders in the NCAA to do so. SHOOTING GALLERY • BU avoided being outshot for a fifth straight game thanks to a strong performance against UConn. • The Terriers fired a season-high 42
shots on goal Sunday while holding UConn to just 28. • In the third period, BU outshot UConn, 15-4. • UConn also managed just five shots on goal over six power-play chances. O’NEIL KEEPING BUSY • Senior Erin O’Neil has made at least 30 saves in all four of her starts this year. • She has averaged 31.75 saves per game, which is tied for second among all NCAA goaltenders that have played at least four games. • Only Merrimack’s Samantha Ridgewell has averaged more saves per game. EXPERIENCE COUNTS • Four of the Terriers’ top five scorers this season are seniors. • Victoria Bach leads the team with seven points, followed by Rebecca Leslie with four. • Savannah Newton and Nina Rodgers each have three points. • The Terriers’ seniors rank fourth in the NCAA with an average of 1.60 goals per game this year. • Meanwhile, BC enters the weekend with the top-scoring freshman class in the country at 1.60 goals per game.

2017-18 boston university Women’s ice hockey @TerrierWHockey FRESHMEN WINNING FACEOFFS • No group of freshmen in the league has a higher faceoff win percentage than the Terriers’ group of six forwards. • BU freshmen have won 54.6% of the draws they have taken (83-of-152), which also ranks fourth among the nation’s freshmen. • Jesse Compher is fifth among NCAA rookies and second among Hockey East freshmen with a win percentage of 57.3%. • Compher has claimed 43 of the 75 faceoffs she has taken this season. STAYING OUT OF THE BOX • BU has averaged just 7.20 penalty minutes per game, which is second fewest among Hockey East schools. • UConn has only been whistled for 5.71 penalty minutes per game. • The Terriers have averaged the ninth fewest penalty minutes per game in the entire country. LOOKING AHEAD • After the Terriers face BC on Saturday, it will be a quick turnaround as they will travel to New Hampshire on Sunday. • The Wildcats will host Maine on Saturday in their second of three games in five days. • UNH suffered a 4-1 setback at Northeastern on Wednesday night. • That was the Wildcats’ first loss of the season, as they had started the 2017-18 campaign with a 4-0-1 mark. RECENT HISTORY WITH UNH • The Terriers faced the Wildcats six times last season, including a thrilling three-game Hockey East quarterfinal series at Walter Brown Arena. • BU won the final two games of that series to advance to the tournament semifinals. • The Terriers went 5-1-0 against the Wildcats last season, scoring at least four goals in four of the six meetings. • UNH failed to hold BU to fewer than two goals in all six games. • Three of the six showdowns were decided by just one goal.
LOT OF CONFERENCE GAMES SO FAR • Only Minnesota and Ohio State have played more conference games than BU this season. • Those two teams have skated in six WCHA tilts, with BU close behind at five conference contests this year. • The Terriers’ first non-conference games of the season will come next weekend when they host RIT for a pair of contests. NEWTON NOTCHES HER FIRST GOAL • Senior Savannah Newton entered the Terriers’ weekend series against Northeastern with 17 career points thanks to 17 assists. • Her scoring portfolio diversified on Oct. 7 when she scored her first collegiate goal in the second period. • Newton added an assist to complete her fifth career multi-point game. • She followed that up with an assist on Sunday against UConn to bring her point total to three entering this weekend. STANLEY SECURES FIRST BU POINTS • Redshirt sophomore Abbey Stanley notched her first two points as a Terrier on Oct. 6 against Northeastern. • She assisted on both BU goals, both of which came on the power play. • The two assists marked a career high for Stanley. • It was her second career multi-point effort; she also notched two points against Bemidji State on Oct. 28, 2016. • Stanley entered the year having recorded six points (2g, 4a) in 33 games with North Dakota last season. REAGAN NOT RUSTY SO FAR • Junior Reagan Rust has tallied a point in three of her first five games with BU. • She most recently notched a helper in the Terriers’ 6-2 win over UConn on Oct. 22. • Rust recorded an assist on Oct. 6, one game after she scored her first goal as a Terrier on Sept. 23 against Merrimack. • It was her first goal since she lit the lamp for RIT against Syracuse on Feb. 17, 2017. • Two of her three goals from last season came on the power play, as did her marker against Merrimack.
