DUROCHER INKS LONG-TERM DEAL • Brian Durocher signed a long-term contract extension to remain as head coach of the Boston University women’s ice hockey program, the team announced on Tuesday. • Durocher has been at the helm of the women’s ice hockey program since its inaugural season in 2005-06. • Currently in his 13th season behind the Terrier bench, Durocher has won more than 250 games and has averaged over 20 wins per season at BU. • He has guided the Terriers to six NCAA Tournament appearances, five Hockey East tournament titles, two league regular-season crowns and a trip to the national title game in 2011 and 2013. • In addition, Durocher has won a record 22 Hockey East playoff games. NOBODY HAS BEEN HELD SCORELESS • Every current Terrier skater that has played at least five games has recorded at least one point this season after freshman Rachel Allen collected an assist on Dec. 30. • In addition, freshman goaltender Corinne Schroeder has one assist. • Every Terrier player that has appeared in at least five games, including the BU netminders, now has at least one career point.

CAN’T KEEP BU OFF THE BOARD • BU was one of just two teams in the nation to not be shut out last season. • The only other team? Reigning national champion Clarkson. • The Terriers have only been shut out once over the last two seasons, a 5-0 loss to No. 1 Boston College in the Hockey East title game. • They have not been held scoreless in a regular-season game since Feb. 19, 2015, when they lost 5-0 to BC. • Only five other teams this season have yet to be held scoreless in a game. SCHULER STRIKES AGAIN • Freshman Kristina Schuler had a point in both games this weekend, assisting on a goal in each contest. • She factored in Friday’s game-winning goal before assisting in the Terriers’ first goal of the game on Saturday. • Schuler has notched two goals and five assists for seven points this season. DE SOUSA DELIVERS FOR THE TERRIERS • Sophomore Deziray De Sousa has recorded four points over her last four games, including an assist on Saturday. • She lit the lamp on Jan. 6 against Maine before assisting on both Terrier goals the next afternoon for the first multi-point game of her BU career. • She has totaled six points (1g, 5a) this season.

TOUGH WEEKEND AGAINST MAINE • The Terriers were swept by Maine this past weekend. • In Saturday’s 4-1 loss, sophomore Deziray De Sousa lit the lamp on the power play thanks to assists by junior Reagan Rust and redshirt sophomore Abbey Stanley. • Freshman Corinne Schroeder made 32 saves in Saturday’s contest. • On Sunday, De Sousa added two assists as freshmen Nara Elia and Jesse Compher each scored in a 3-2 loss. • Stanley had a helper, as did Compher. • Senior Erin O’Neil made 24 saves. DECEMBER TO REMEMBER • Senior Victoria Bach narrowly missed out on a second straight Hockey East Player of the Month honor, finishing as runner-up for December. • This was despite Bach leading the conference in both goals (6) and points (9) in just four games. • Bach’s six goals and nine points were also tops among all NCAA players that skated against only Division I competition in December. BACH SCORING AT HISTORIC PACE • Senior Victoria Bach became the fastest Terrier to 20 goals in program history, achieving that feat in just her 18th game of the season. • Bach is also the first Terrier to score 20 goals in four different seasons. • She is just three goals away from surpassing Sarah Lefort (‘16) for most goals at BU; Lefort lit the lamp 92 times in her storied career. TWO TERRIERS TAPPED FOR OLYMPICS • Former Terrier standouts Marie-Philip Poulin (‘15) and Jenn Wakefield (‘12) will represent Canada at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. • This will be the third straight Olympics at which Poulin will skate for Canada, while Wakefield will be participating at her second consecutive Olympic Winter Games. • Both alumnae won gold in 2014, with Poulin also claiming gold in 2010. • During the recent six-game series against the United States, Poulin led all skaters with four goals and tied for the tournament lead with five points. • Wakefield scored a goal and added an assist.
