1. New Business (Cathy Anthony) a. February Meeting Minutes i) Draft minutes approved. b. Summer Camp i) Feedback from the 2016 camp was positive and FTSA would like to hold camp again this summer. (1) The FTSA would like to expand player pool to surrounding communities. Advertising of the summer camp will expand to communities near Florence. ii) FTSA would like to partner with the FTMHS Soccer Boosters again this session. (1) Confirming participation from the HS players is a priority area. iii) Tentative camp details (1) July 31-August 4 (2) 6pm – 8pm (3) Marter complex for all nights (4) Training Coordinate will supervise the camp with support from FTSA and travel coaches. c. Mini-Kickers i) Efforts to secure community or parent volunteers to supervise the program were unsuccessful. Chris Conti has volunteered to supervise the Saturday morning sessions. Other FTSA members have also volunteered. ii) Registration information will be sent out to parents and the community. d. Sponsorship Letters i) Initial sponsorship letters have been drafted. Please review and give feedback to Cathy Anthony. ii) Letters will be sent in early June. e. Scholarship Committee i) FTSA is seeking volunteers for the Scholarship Committee. ii) Applications are due the end of April. f. Home Game Concessions i) FTSA is exploring selling concessions at the home games this spring season. (1) Concessions would be sold by members of the NHS and Jr. NHS (2) Days with several home games would be identified for sales. (3) Food and beverages would have to be purchased for the sales. ii) FTSA will determine if this would be a profitable activity prior to moving forward. g. Spring Tryouts i) Tryouts will be held for several teams in April 2017. (1) Chris Conti will handle required advertising for all teams. Please submit all tryout information to him as soon as possible. (2) Veterans Field will be available for evening tryouts. This will need to be coordinated with the coaches who have practice at Veteran’s during the week. (3) M3 can be used for tryouts if the field is free. ii) A coaches meeting will be held to review current players for each team and the anticipated needs. 2. Treasurer Report (Tony Pastore) a. 6. Referee Coordinator Report (Tom Floyd) a. Referee Rules i) US Soccer Federation has made some changes to rules. Provided to referees via flash drive. Responsibility of the referees to review changes. ii) Most of these changes are for high level play and do not impact play at the recreation or travel levels.
