Get a clean, large mixing bowl, three fresh eggs, fresh milk (check the expiration date to make sure it’s still good), a set of clean measuring spoons, a clean fork, about two to three pounds of ground meat or meat loaf mix, two slices of white bread, a small fresh onion, diced, A.1. Sauce, salt, black pepper, basil, thyme, a clean, large meat loaf pan, a clean baking sheet to put the meat loaf pan on during baking, and clean potholders.

Using your other hand and the large spoon, mix together all the ingredients in the bowl until well blended. Be sure to mix in the eggs with the rest of the ingredients. ______24. Put meat mixture into meat loaf pan. Using your one hand, hold the meat loaf pan to keep it steady. Using your other hand and the large spoon, put the meat mixture from the bowl into the meat loaf pan. As you put the meat into the pan, keep patting down the meat and making it even across the top. Once all the meat is in the meat loaf pan, try to mound the meat in the pan by lightly pressing down on the meat all along the pan edges (where the meat meets the pan) with the spoon. ______25. Put meat loaf pan on to baking sheet. Put the meal loaf pan on to a baking sheet. The meat loaf may bubble over during baking and the baking sheet will catch the spills and keep your oven clean. To be really snazzy, you can even line the baking sheet with a piece of aluminum foil before you put the meat loaf on top. ______26. Put on potholders. Put the potholders on to your hands as an extra precaution. ______27. Open oven. Put baking sheet in. Open the oven door. Put the baking sheet with the meat loaf pan into the oven. ______28. Close oven. Close the oven door. ______29. Take off potholders. Let meat loaf bake 1 1/2 hours. Take off the potholders from your hands. Let the meat loaf bake for one and one half hours.

Using the meat thermometer, check the temperature of the meat loaf. ______32. Decision. Careful! Take meat loaf out of oven if at least 165 degrees. If the temperature of the meat loaf is at least one hundred sixty-five degrees, take the baking sheet with the meat loaf out of the oven and put it on to a safe surface. or ______32A. Decision. If the meat loaf has not reached at least one hundred sixty-five degrees, leave the baking sheet with the meat loaf in the oven and check it again every ten to fifteen minutes.
