CC Player of the Week Sophomore Casey Attanasio was named the CC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career on Monday. Attanasio scored in four consecutive matches, ending with a two-goal outburst in a double-overtime win at Swarthmore. She leads Gettysburg in both goals (8) and points (20) this fall.

Opening Kick The playoff fate of both teams rests on the outcome of today’s contest. A win for either Gettysburg or Muhlenberg will get them into the playoffs, while a tie or a loss could have the squads on the outside looking in. The Series The Bullets lead the all-time series with the Mules 12-8-1, but it’s been a few years since tonight’s hosts were in the win column. Gettysburg’s last win over Muhlenberg came in 2005 in a match played at Emmaus High School. Including that 3-2 decision, eight of the last nine meetings have been decided by one goal.

Offensive Output Gettysburg has posted 100 points this season, easily its highest total since putting up 166 in the 2004 season. The team’s 35 goals and 30 assists are also its highest totals since the ’04 campaign.

Last Meeting Muhlenberg struck early in a 2-1 victory in Allentown last fall. Alyssa Meola and Meghan O’Grady scored in the ninth and 18th minutes to push the hosts out to a 2-0 lead. Tara Gaston ’10 sliced the deficit in half with a goal in the 35th minute, but Gettysburg was unable to find the equalizer the rest of the way. Muhlenberg’s Michele Toher and Gettysburg’s Allie Rivera each posted a trio of saves in the opposing goals. Last Time Out Gettysburg came out on the short-end of a 3-0 score at Dickinson this past Tuesday. The shot count was relatively even with the 13th-ranked Red Devils, but the hosts tallied 10 saves as a team to keep the Bullets off the board. Casey Attanasio and Suzy Englot each posted three shots for Gettysburg, while Allie Rivera made six saves.
