GAME NOTES OPENING TIP Gettysburg aims to extend its winning ways while Muhlenberg looks for its secondstraight victory over an unbeaten foe today inside Bream Gym. ALL-TIME SERIES Muhlenberg leads the all-time series with Gettysburg 26-19. The two programs have split the regular season series in each of the last five seasons. LAST MEETING Gettysburg dispatched Muhlenberg 66-51 in the opening round of the Centennial Conference playoffs last season. Leading by just five at the break, the Bullets blew the game open in the second half and led by as many as 20 down the stretch. Four Bullets reached double-figures led by Alyssa Isler ’14 with 15. Caroline Murphy ’14 notched a doubledouble with 13 points and 14 boards, while Emily Duggan ’16 tallied 14 points and six boards. Jessica Porter ’16 scored 10 points off the bench. LAST TIME OUT The Orange and Blue took home the championship in its own tournament by defeating Neumann 64-56 last Monday. The Knights led by nine with just over nine minutes to go, but the Bullets ran off a 19-2 run to end the game. Senior Samantha Pagel fueled the comeback, netting 20 of her career-high 28 points in the second half. She added nine rebounds in the game on the way to being named the Sally Musselman Outstanding Player. Junior Jessica Porter chipped in with 15 points, while freshman Emily Gibbons added 10 points.
NATIONAL RANKS Gettysburg ranks second in the nation in scoring defense (45.7 ppg) and defensive field-goal percentage defense (27.1 percent). The Bullets also rank 13th in DIII in blocked shots per game (6.1). Gettysburg finished as the national leader in defensive field-goal percentage in 2012-13. PAGEL POWER Senior Samantha Pagel had herself a day last Monday against Neumann. She finished 12-of18 from the floor and 3-of-4 at the free throw line to top her previous personal best scoring effort by 10 points. She scored 11 buckets in the paint and banked in a three-pointer from the top of the key. It was the best scoring effort by a Bullet since Caitlin Moser ’11 dropped 34 on Farmingdale State on March 5, 2010.
