Game Notes OPENING TIP Gettysburg concludes its season-opening fourgame homestand as it hosts the Swarthmore College Garnet in its Centennial Conference opener. ALL-TIME SERIES The Bullets lead Swarthmore 26-14 in the alltime series that first started in 1906. The two teams have split their season series in each of the past two seasons. LAST SEASON VS SWARTHMORE The Garnet earned a 69-65 home victory over the Bullets last season before Gettysburg claimed the grudge match 71-55 here in Bream Gym. In the first meeting, Chris Bourne posted 22 points and seven rebounds while Jay Kober added 19 points for Swarthmore, which led by 13 with 58 seconds left before a late Gettysburg rally. Sango Amolo led the Bullets with 20 points. In the second meeting, four Bullets reached double figures in scoring, with Sean Gordon and Tanner Kirkpatrick netting 14 apiece. Gettysburg led by just four points at the half but pulled away with a 15-3 run to open the second period, when Kirkpatrick nailed a trio of 3-pointers. Kober notched 16 points for the Garnet. LAST TIME OUT Sophomore guard Pete Christ scored a game-high 14 points and Gettysburg used a late 10-0 run to pull away for a 69-55 victory over York (Pa.) College this past Wednesday here in Bream Gym. Senior guard Joe Emerusabe added 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers during Gettysburg’s decisive run, to go with seven rebounds. Junior forward Kevin Gladstone contributed 12 points off the bench while freshman forward Cameron Stewart added 10 points.
Swarthmore dropped a 71-62 decision to Bard College in the final round of the Haverford/ Swarthmore Equinox Classic this past Sunday at Haverford. The Garnet led 39-36 at the break before the Raptors broke it open with a 14-1 run to start the second half. Sophomore forward Chris Bourne paced Swarthmore with 14 points and 11 rebounds and earned a spot on the alltournament team while freshman guard Matt Brennan added 16 points.

SCOUTING GETTYSBURG The Bullets enter the season with an extremely young team, as 12 of the 16 players dotting the roster are underclassmen, including eight freshmen. Gettysburg’s top returning scorer is sophomore forward Cody Kiefer, who notched 12.6 points per game and was named the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year while earning all-conference honorable mention. Sophomore forward Tanner Kirkpatrick added 11.1 points per game a year ago while Gordon posted 8.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and a conference-leading 4.2 assists per game for a team that finished 12-13 and 10-8 in the Centennial Conference.
