GAME NOTES

OPENING TIP Gettysburg and Ursinus tip off the Centennial Conference schedule tonight inside Bream Gym. ALL-TIME SERIES Ursinus holds a 27-21 advantage in a series that began in 1955. The teams have split the regularseason series in each of the last four years with the home team winning in each game. Gettysburg’s last loss to Ursinus inside Bream Gym was in 2003. LAST MEETING Caroline Murphy ’14 posted 17 points and 12 rebounds and Cori Younghans ’14 added a dozen points off the bench to lift Gettysburg past Ursinus 57-45 inside Bream Gym last January. The Bullets out-scored the Bears 35-24 in the second half. Gettysburg picked up 20 points at the free throw line and received 21 points from the bench. Emily Duggan ’16 added nine points, nine rebounds, and five assists for the hosts, while Jessica Porada paced Ursinus with 18 points and nine rebounds. LAST TIME OUT Gettysburg claimed the Frostburg State Jim Crawley Tip-Off Tournament title for the second consecutive season. After beating Susquehanna 5958 in the opener, the Bullets knocked off the host Bobcats 60-49 in the championship game. Seniors Jenna Swope and Samantha Pagel each turned in 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the way. Junior Jessica Porter added 11 points and was named MVP of the tournament after averaging 16 points in the two games. Pagel was also named to the All-Tournament Team. CC PRESEASON POLL Gettysburg was picked to finish fith in the Centennial Conference Preseason Poll. The selection marks the Bullets’ eighth-straight season with a top-five billing heading into the year. Gettysburg has qualified for the postseason in eight of the last 10 seasons. Johns Hopkins (149 points) was the preseason favorite, edging defending champion Haverford (144).

BACK TO FORM Junior Jessica Porter logged 21 points in the season opener against Susquehanna. It was Porter’s highest-scoring output since she dropped 22 points on William Paterson in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament. Porter, who was the 2012-13 CC Rookie of the Year, was hampered by injury for nearly all of her sophomore campaign. SCINTILLATING SENIORS Seniors Jenna Swope and Samantha Pagel turned in career performances against Frostburg. Swope, who missed all of last season, finished 6-of-8 from the floor and knocked down all three of her three-point attempts on the way to 17 points. Pagel came off the bench to nail 5-of-6 shots and 7-of-8 free throws to set a new personal high with 17 tallies. FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS Freshman Annie Reilly is the younger sister of Gettysburg alumna Katie Reilly ’07. The elder Reilly scored over 1,000 points for the Bullets and was an all-conference second-team selection as a senior. Just like her sister 11 years ago, Annie earned the starting nod in her first collegiate appearance. SCOUTING URSINUS...  Ursinus finished sixth in the Centennial Conference last season. The Bears were 11-13 overall and 8-10 in conference play.  The Bears split their first two games of the season at the York College Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. Ursinus downed TCNJ 63-52 in the opening game before falling to the Spartans 55-44 in the championship.  Junior Jessica Porada poured in 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the season opener against TCNJ. She added eight points and seven boards against York. Porada, a second-team All-CC selection a year ago, averaged 14.5 points and 9.1 rebounds in 2013-14.
