MEC Quarterfinals Wednesday, March 3rd …………………………………12:00 p.m. Charleston Civic Center……….Charleston, West Virginia The Matchup The# 7seeded Pioneers advance to the MEC quarterfinals after they defeated the UVa-Wise Cavaliers in the first round and will now take on the #2 seeded West Liberty Hilltoppers. This is the third matchup of the year between GSC and West Liberty. The Hilltoppers took both games from GSC this season. In th the first on Jan. 8 game West Liberty won 108-105 in overtime at the Waco Center. Brett Morris posted a double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds. th West Liberty would win the matchup at home on Feb. 18 93-82. Jon Dunmyer had a career and season-high for GSC as he scored 34 points in the loss. This also marks the third time GSC and West Liberty have played in the MEC Tournament and are tied at 1-1.
