Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for Sept. 4-10, 2017. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2017-2018 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. Women – Katie Bosch, Northwestern College Northwestern’s Katie Bosch is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Bosch, a senior from Ankeny, Iowa, won the Defender Classic held last weekend in Sioux Center, Iowa. She led from start to finish and posted a 5K time of 18:20 to win her first collegiate race. Bosch has finished in the top 10 in both races this year and has five for her career.
Men – Tanner Goetsch, Northwestern College Northwestern’s Tanner Goetsch is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Goetsch, a senior from Spirit Lake, Iowa, led No.7 Northwestern to the team championship at the Defender Classic held last weekend in Sioux Center, Iowa. It was his first individual title, completing the 8K course in a time of 26:09, holding off three of his teammate to take home the individual crown. Goetsch, a two-time all-conference runner, has four top 10 and six top 20 finishes.
