Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week Announced (Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 26-October 2, 2016. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2016-2017 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week Attacker – Maci Coffey, Doane University (Outside Hitter) Doane University’s Maci Coffey is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Coffey, a junior, from Blue Hill, Nebraska, helped the Tigers to a win over No. 18 Bellevue in a non-conference match-up, proving unstoppable in the fifth set with four of her team-high 15 kills. She had another impressive match against DWU until she was injured early in the third set and did not return. Coffey led the Tigers in both matches in kills and hit .460 for the week Setter – Jessa Doom, Northwestern College Jessa Doom of Northwestern is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Doom, a senior from Wagner, South Dakota, led the Red Raiders to a five-set, upset win over No. 9 Dordt College last week. The senior setter put up a season-high 52 assists and totaled nine digs while leading a Red Raider offense that hit .193 against the tall front line of the Defenders. Defender – Jill Bax, Hastings College (Defensive Specialist) Hastings College defensive specialist Jill Bax is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-theWeek. Bax, a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, picked up 20 digs against Concordia and averaged five digs per set this past week. She also had a career high six service aces including four to start the match against Mount Marty.
