Kingshill Church School Newsletter Friday 20 March 2015 Dear Parents/Carers Congratulations to our Archery Team who entered the North Somerset Schools competition. The team had a fantastic attitude and won the ‘Honesty’ cup for being determined and competing with enthusiasm and integrity.
Our OFSTED banners have arrived! One is looking splendid in the reception area of school and after Easter we shall put a huge one on the school fence. There is a fantastic report in the North Somerset Times too. Well done Kingshill!!
Sapphire had an amazing day on Tuesday - they were visited by Tillie’s School of Performing Arts who spent the day teaching the class drama based around Ancient Greece and Greek myths. We certainly enjoyed the performance as did the parents who came to the class assembly. Thank you Sapphire Class. Solar Eclipse - We were lucky to have such a clear day for the solar eclipse! Many parents came to school to watch it with their children and the rest of us saw a small amount on BBC1 but we could certainly see how the sky darkened and when we went outside it was really cold!! Thanks to all the parents who came along - it was a lovely, exciting time. On Red Nose day last week a photographer from North Somerset Times came into school and took this lovely picture - you can see this on their gallery http://www.northsomersettimes.co.uk/news/ gallery_funny_faces_for_comic_relief_1_3998735 Just a reminder that the Easter Competitions close on Monday 23 March. Please make sure that the children take their named entries (use the slips given out) to their class teacher. We will put them all on display on Thursday 26 March - you are welcome to come and have a look after school. Winners will be announced earlier that day. The entries will be judged by Mr Mountstephen Chief Executive Officer of the MAT. Thank you to all parents who attended parent consultations this week and last week - your support in this is invaluable. Topaz class are performing a few songs on their recorders on Monday 23 March at 9 am, all parents/carers welcome. E-SAFETY An e-safety reminder will now appear on our newsletter each week - this is a very important issue and I want to make sure that parents are supported in keeping their children safe online. Attached to this newsletter is a guidance/advice sheet which is also on our website. Jan Thomson Headteacher

Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our e-Safety Policy. E-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with you to ensure the e-Safety message is consistent. Your help is needed to talk to your children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online. May I draw your attention to the guidance/advice which is on our website.
We value parental support please let us know by e-mail, calling into the office or catch us in the playground if you have any comments to make.
