It’s Party Time at
Kudzu Blossom Quilt Shop Friday April 8, 2011 6-7pm
Janice challenged the shop staff to make up samples using at least one block from the Spring Sampler—in different fabrics and color ways. Wonder what we made? You’ll have to come to the party to see our interpretations of these floral blocks! Patterns for the Spring Sampler will be available. Some items will be on Special Friday Night Only. If you missed out on any of the Shop Hop Weekly Specials, you might find some of these items available as well.

The Art of Elegant
Hand Embroidery Embellishment and Appliqué by Janice Vaine
A must have for your library! Not only is it a work of art in itself; it contains beautifully detailed instructions. The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery. Over half of the book focuses on techniques for needleturn appliqué and embellishments (embroidery stitches, fabric techniques, ribbon and stump work). The remainder of the book is dedicated to garden blocks and quilts made from the blocks. And you get all of the block patterns on a CD! Here’s an example of how to make a fly stitch leaf. Wouldn’t this be a wonderful addition to your appliqué block?
This is the 4-inch lemon block. The instructions include the block diagram and a listing of all of the techniques used in the block.
