MARKET REPORT PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE THURSDAY 12TH JUNE 2014 THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Common sense is a flower that doesn’t grow in everyone's garden Emerald Agents yarded 1730 head at this weeks Prime and Store Cattle Sale. A fairly ordinary yarding was on offer with quality well back on last week’s Show Sale with values mostly declining as a result. Best of the Bullocks made to a top of 142 cents back 5 cents, Cows sold to 113 cents and also back 2-5 cents while Boner Cows improved 3 cents. Feeder Steers topped at 161 cents. Weaner Steers sold to 168 cents back 15 cents due to quality. Feeder Heifers made as much as 149 cents and the best of the Weaner Heifers reached 135 cents and down 10 cents again due to quality. There were no Cows and Calves to quote. Category Steers

Epping Forrest Pastoral Co, Clermont sold empty Santa Heifers weighing 334 kg for 134 cents to realise $448. Clothier & Barns, Borilla Park, Emerald offered Char D/M X Weaner Heifers selling for 135 cents weighing 267 kg or $362. Peter Cook & Family, Beaumont, Pine Hill sold D/Master X Cows to 109.2 c/kg to weigh 6101 kg and gross $667. Rob Loader & Family, Wongabel, Springsure sold Santa/Brahman X Heifers to 115.2 c/kg to weigh 487 kg and gross $629. Andy & Sam Bulger, Serento, The Willows sold Brahman X Weaner Steers to make 167.2 c/kg and weigh 298 kgs for $499 per head. George & Marie Saunders, Medway Park, Bogantungan sold a line of D/Master X Steers topping at 157.2 c/kg to average 372 kgs to return $585 per head. Their Heifers topped at 134.2 c/kg to weigh 342 kgs and return $459. Gladis Holmes, Alamay, Yamala sold Santa X Heifers weighing 422 kgs to make 132.2 c/kg and return $558 per head. John & Lyn Singleton, Turon Downs, Middlemount topped the Prime Cow Market at 113.2 c/kg for 565 kg to return $640 per head. Barcaldine Downs Pastoral, Boongoondoo, Jericho sold preg tested in calf Cows for $530 with their fat Cows making up to $560.00
