Mentoring Program Stefan Matache Junior Production Engineer, OMV Petrom Drilling
As student, my background overview is related to graduation of Oil and Gas Faculty in July 2013 and Drilling Engineering Master Program in March 2015. Started to work from August 2013, for "Foraj Sonde Videle", as a HSE Officer on the rig site and beside the fact my job was to try to keep people safe, I was involved in the drilling operations. So, in the meantime, I was learning all rig components, equipment and operational procedures. Fact which helped me afterwards when I`ve joined "OMV Petrom" as a Jr. Drilling Engineer. This was from December 2014 and in the beginning, I`ve supervised the drilling operations on a junior level and helped my colleagues to prepare all the well reports. When the crisis period came, I was called on the office and my manager gave me one un-economical well for re-evaluation and offers re-negotiation, to try to make the well drillable. In the end, the well was successfully drilled and further projects came. From April 2016, when the drilling activity got very low, I`ve joined "Production Technical Support" department and a new journey started. Now I`m helping the Assets to increase the Mean Time Between Failures by analyzing the critical wells and providing technical but economical solutions. Currently, I am involved in two multi-disciplinary special projects, called "Multilateral wells" and "Slim Sidetrack wells".
