19th June 2017 Dear Parent/Guardian This year, the annual Causeway School Sports day will take place on Thursday 6th July 2017. On the day your child will need to arrive at Eastbourne Sports Park by 9.00am. They will then need to be collected or make their own way home from the venue at 3.00pm. Staff will be at the Sports Park from 8.30am onwards to receive the students. All students are expected to attend and any absence should be reported in the normal way to the school absence line. Students will be required to wear their full school PE kit during this day and compete in a plain t-shirt of their house colour, if they do not have one they can borrow a coloured bib from the PE department prior to the day. I would also advise they bring some warm clothing and some wet weather clothing, in case of bad weather, as they will be outside all day. Students should also bring sun protection, a hat and plenty of water. Please be mindful of the weather forecast. Students will also need to bring their own packed lunches. The school will be able to provide a lunch for those who receive free school meals. If we have to cancel the event due to the weather we will send you a text message at 7.00am on the morning of Sports Day. This is a brilliant and inclusive sporting event that allows every student at Causeway to take part and compete for their house at their own level and in the events of their choice.
