Weekly Objectives :
Students will be able to follow agreed-upon rules for discussions, ask and answer questions about key details in a text, demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print, isolate and pronounce initial, medial vowel, and final sounds in spoken single-syllable words, decode regularly spelled one-syllable words, recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words, use conventional spelling for words with common spelling patterns and for frequently occurring irregular words, write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure, & use end punctuation for sentences. Students will be able to describe how words and phrases supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem, or song.
