Summer is Coming...Got Plans?

It is hard to believe that summer vacation is right around the corner. For some of our students they will be attending the Mountain Pine Summer Programs June 6-30, 2016. Parents and students stay tuned for more information. What can you do this summer vacation? We live in a great area with lots of summer activities.
Vacation Bible School: There are many local churches offering programs throughout Hot Springs. These week long programs are free. Garland County Library: Check out their calendar they have some amazing free programs all summer long. Bathhouse Row: Check out the history of Hot Springs by touring the Bathhouses these tours are free.. When you finish treat yourself to an ice
cream at Kilwin’s or a designer cupcake at Fat Bottom Girls Cupcakes. Hiking: There are a number of state parks in our area that boast free hiking trails if you like to be outdoors. Take plenty of water and enjoy the natural beauty of Hot Springs. Magic Springs: While this venue is not free it is a great way to cool off when the weather gets up. Season passes can be purchased. Check their website for summer activities and specials.

Greenhouse Plant Sale May 8, 2016
The Environmental Science Class has a greenhouse full of vegetables, flowers and flower baskets for Mother’s Day. The plants have been grown by our very own students, all proceeds from the sales goes to the Environmental Science Program. Red Devils Recipe of the Month Baked Denver Omelets Ingredients: 2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup chopped cooked ham
8 eggs
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch round baking dish.

Beat eggs and milk in a large bowl. Stir in Cheddar cheese and ham mixture; season with salt and black pepper. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake in preheated oven until eggs are browned and puffy, about 25 minutes. Serve warm .

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion and bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in ham and continue cooking until heated through, 5 minutes more.
If serving for dinner accompany with a tossed green salad and warm rolls.
