Quieting of Our Hearts | P ASTOR P AUL V ROOM Lighting of Advent Candle | P ASTOR P AUL V ROOM People:
At Christmas time we remember Jesus, who entered into this human life and took on all the joys, frustrations, boredom, wonder, and pain that makes up a human life in a fallen world. He did this so He could be our God with us. Because He walked through our broken world for us we can trust Him to walk through our broken world with us.
Responding in Song | O Come, O Come Emmanuel Confession of Sin | Todd Paben Leader:
“These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.” We can all identify with Jesus’ words from Mark 7 in how at some point our hearts have been far from God this week. As we confess our sins may you draw near to your Heavenly Father who forgives us from all our sins.

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Your sins are pardoned. The penalty is paid. Praise God that the penalty of sin and death has been paid through Jesus!
