Rouse Raider Swim Team Booster Club General Meeting Minutes Nov. 3, 2014 Call to Order General Board meeting called to order by Tina Saul at 7:00pm on Nov. 3, 2014 at the classroom of Coach Ramsey.
Attendance Executive members in attendance: Tina Saul, Ken Demoski and Lenna Crosby Other members in attendance: Jayme Ingram, Dianne Szabo, Judy Coleman, Sam Stauber, Vicki Schaefer, John Schaefer, Tom Erlanson, Nicholas Stokes and Gemma Prado. Guests: Coach Ramsey
Approval of minutes from last meeting Minutes from last meeting were approved by all.
Old Business A) Committees a. Committee Sign-Ups: i. The list of booster members who have signed up for committees so far: 1. Banquet/Social—Peter & Jeri Grady 2. Decorations/Goodie Bags—Lenna Crosby 3. Meals for Meets—Jayme Ingram & Tina Saul 4. Merchandise/T-shirts—Vicki Schaefer, Tom Erlanson & Jayme Ingram 5. Publications—Nick Stokes (Facebook) & Sam Stauber b. Merchandise/T-shirt Committee: i. Swim Signs have been delivered to the school, but we are having an issue finding where they were left at. 1. The company said they were dropped off at the front office, but the office does not have them. 2. Looking into the issue and getting it resolved.
New Business A) Committees a. Break into committees before adjoining. i. Make sure members of each committee have each other’s contact information. ii. Decide on when each committee would like to individually meet. b. Merchandise/T-shirt committee needs to start working on district t-shirts. i. Districts are Jan. 23-24, 2015 in Austin.
ii. Need shirts by mid-Jan. c. Fundraising Committee needs to work on Pieology Night and Silent Auction. i. Diane Szabo has already secured donations from Rudy’s, Bellini’s, Mighty Fine & Smokey Mo’s. ii. Silent Auction will be held during the lunch hours of 1am-1pm and the dinner hours of 5pm-8pm. Lenna Crosby, Judy Coleman & Gemma Prado will attend the lunch shift. Ken Demoski, Vicki Schaefer & Diane Szabo will attend the dinner shift. B) Coach’s report a. Team members are not attending practice. i. Members are taking advantage of the tutoring policy. 1. Some members are not bringing notes from the tutoring sessions. 2. Some members are not attempting to work out an afternoon tutoring session and will skip practice for a morning session instead. b. Team members are not coming prepared for practice. ii. Some team members are coming to practice without all of the necessary equipment. 1. Both issues have been ongoing for several weeks. c. Tension among team members is high. i. Because of the above issues, members are complaining and not supporting each other. 1. The girls’ team has the highest tension. Coach’s locker room is on the other side of theirs and she has heard things to support that notion. d. If this behavior continues the following will result: i. A daily grading policy will go into effect. 1. Attendance, behavior & preparedness will all be factors of the new policy. e. Coach is hoping that the team members will correct themselves by the end of the week (Nov. 7th). i. If the deadline passes and the behavior as not corrected itself then starting next week the daily grading policy will go into effect. ii. Team members have already been told about this policy and why it will be going into effect.
Next Meeting General Board Meeting will be held on Monday Dec. 1, 2014 at 7:00pm in Coach Ramsey’s classroom.
