Rouse Raider Swim Team Booster Club General Meeting Minutes January 12, 2015 Call to Order General Board meeting called to order by Tina Saul at 5:45pm on Jan. 12, 2015 at the classroom of Coach Ramsey.
Attendance Executive members in attendance: Tina Saul, Ken Demoski and Lenna Crosby, Peter Grady Other members in attendance: Jayme Ingram, Jeri Grady, Diane Szabo, Karen Erlanson, Tom Erlanson Guests: Coach Ramsey
Approval of minutes from last meeting Minutes were approved.
Old Business A) Merchandise/T-shirt Committee a. Swim Team logo was approved by LISD. i. 42 shirts ordered for Districts. 1. Shirts will be distributed during the pasta dinner on Jan. 21st. 2. Jayme Ingram will send out an email letting parents know how much their orders are. b. Tom Erlanson is looking into purchasing a new banner for the Swim Team. B) Meals for Meets Committee a. Jimmy Johns will deliver to meet on Jan. 23 & 24. i. Jayme Ingram will send out an order form this week. C) Banquet/Social Events Committee a. District Pasta Dinner: i. The Grady’s will host the District Pasta Dinner. Wednesday Jan. 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm. ii. Look for food item sign ups on Sign-Up Genius in the coming week. b. End of the Year Banquet date and location will be discussed at the February meeting. D) Publications Committee a. Official team pictures will be after Districts, Regionals and State meets. i. Sam Stauber will take a more abstract photo of the team later in the year.
New Business A) Treasure’s Report a. Peter Grady gave the boosters a financial update. i. We have approximately $3800 in the booster account after all deposits and expenditures have been made. B) Fundraising Committee a. We are being asked by the main athletic booster club to promote Bingo Nights. i. Ken Demoski will contact Sheri Hickman about details for these Bingo Nights. b. We raised $1287.25 for the Pieology Night. i. $1097 from the silent auction. ii. $190.25 from Pieology. c. Committee needs to look into spring fundraising opportunities. i. Some ideas are: Pieology Night, Swim-A-Thon, towel sales. ii. The committee needs to decide on a few fundraisers and present them to the booster members at the next meeting. C) Decorations/Goodie Bags Committee a. Goodie bags will be individually made for districts. i. Parents can sign-up on Sign Up Genius for requested donation items. ii. Coach gave some suggestions for items: bananas, beef jerky, peanuts, cheese, granola and fruit roll-ups b. We will have a charter bus for Regionals and will need to have it decorated. i. Decorations have to be on the inside of the bus. ii. The bus will leave from school in the afternoon of Thurs. Feb. 5th. iii. The committee is looking for volunteers to help decorate prior to departure. D) 8th Grade Parent Night/Elective Fair a. All the swimmers must attend the RHS Elective Fair for incoming freshman on Jan. 29th from 6pm-8pm. E) Coach’s Report a. The flu has hit RHS hard. If students are even feeling a little sick, please stay home. i. Swim grade will not be effective due to illness. b. Swimmers need to shave at home and make sure they do not bring razors with them to Districts. i. Anyone caught with a razor at Districts will disqualify the whole team. c. No cell phones are allowed in the UT locker rooms. This will also disqualify the whole team. d. For District finals: The top 6 of prelims will advance to finals. Two alternates will also advance. F) Approved by Booster Members a. Tip for Jimmy John’s delivery driver was approved by booster members. i. $10 a day for both Jan. 23rd & 24th. b. Regionals and State towels approved by the booster members. i. Swimmers who make Regionals will receive an embroidered towel. ii. Swimmers who make it to State will receive an embroidered towel. 1. The booster club will purchase maroon towels. 2. Vicki Schaefer will embroider both Regionals and State towels. c. Community Service hours was pushed back to February’s meeting.
Next Meeting General Board Meeting will be held on Monday Feb. 16, 2015 at 6:30pm in Coach Ramsey’s classroom.
