Sewing Center News Hello Everyone! November is here and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. The thought has come to me; are you thankful? There are many things to be thankful for. Even with the economic slump, recession, or whatever you want to call it, most of us have plenty in the way of food, clothing, and shelter. Am I thankful? We live in a free country! A country that affords equal rights, religious freedom, and more. This freedom however did not come without a price. Many men and woman have given their lives for this freedom. Am I thankful? Then I think about the most important freedom we are offered. The freedom of spirit that comes with a full surrender to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This freedom that we are offered is a result of the greatest sacrifice that has ever been paid. Am I thankful? Are you thankful? * Come check out our sewing cabinets. We have several to choose from

Feetures Foot Facts Tailor Tack Foot #7 This foot was developed before the days of disappearing fabric markers and easy patterns. Designed to eliminate the tedious job of marking garment pieces with hand tailor tacks, this foot offers a way to stitch thread loops on fabric for marking seamlines, darts, and notches. Tailor Tack Foot #7 has a 1/4” tall metal ridge in the center of the foot. A zigzag stitch is formed over the ridge causing the thread to form a loop on top of the fabric. Just above the sole of the foot, the shank forms an inverted opening for the stitched thread loops to pass through. By making slight variations to the machine settings, these loops can be used not only for marking fabrics, but for some fun decorative applications as well. The threads can be clipped or trimmed for a variety of effects—both practical and decorative. Besides precisely marking patterns and sewing on large buttons, fagoting, fringe, and 3-D effects can be created on almost any type of project. Combined with decorative stitches, the effect of this technique can be quite dramatic. Use rayon, metallic, and variegated threads for even more unusual effects.
