Sewing Center News Hello Everyone, We recently had a Sunday School lesson on perseverance. Do you ever find that sometimes it is easier to just give up when a little resistance is met or if things are not going the way you want them to? Or maybe what I am facing looks like a mountain so I go the other way or try to find another way around the situation. I think that so much of the time we look at the whole situation, problem, or whatever it is and then we are immediately overwhelmed. I recently read a quote that said “The journey of a thousand miles, begins with one step”. Oh how true! If I can just take one step at a time and remember that God has promised abundant Grace. If you have been dreaming of that new BERNINA sewing machine now is a good time to make that dream a reality. Through September 29th we can offer 60 month (that’s 5 year’s) interest free financing to qualified applicants. Minimum purchase amount is $4,000. We even have some awesome machine specials to go along with this offer. Stop by and see us. Feetures Foot Facts Freehand Embroidery Foot #24 Freehand Embroidery Foot #24 is used for a wide range of freemotion techniques, all stitched with a lowered feed dog. The foot is similar in design to the Darning Foot #9, but the front is cut away, providing unobstructed visibility of the needle and stitching area. This is particularly useful when stitching along marked lines. The round design of Embroidery Foot #24 accommodates both straight and zigzag stitching up to 5mm.

Like foot #9, Freehand Embroidery Foot #24 is not designed to come in contact with the feed dog. Rather, as the fabric is moved along the desired path, the vertical spring action holds the fabric down as the needle pulls away, allowing free movement of the fabric by the stitcher. Always hoop the fabric tightly, and/or place a layer (or several layers) of stabilizer under it. There are many types of stabilizer available. Be sure to read the manufactures’ recommendations, and experiment with several to find your favorites. Please note that the concentration required for free-motion stitching has been known to cause a temporary loss of time-awareness.

embroidery Needles. Oh! As a nurse I love needles especially the long ones. Seriously, needles are an important machine. part of your sewing machine. Quality needles are important. They make your sewing go so much easier. You have less thread breakage, less snagging, less gumming, etc. We currently carry both BERNINA and Schmetz needles because we believe these are the highest quality needle on the market today. Well it is about to get even better. Sometime in later October early November will have a Floriani Chrome needle that is produced by Schmetz. These fabulous needles glide through fabric easier, last longer, and have even less gumming problems then titanium needles. Oh, and you will not find these needles everywhere. In fact you will only find them at your local Floriani dealer.
