Tiny Mite Football History has always celebrated rivalry ….. Coke vs. Pepsi, Apple vs. Samsung and in the world of Tiny Mite football, Bedford vs. Manchester. The Granite State’s top two TM teams slugged it out to the delight of a standing-room-only “Dog Pound” crowd at Preston Stadium. The Bulldogs defense opened the game with a couple of big tackles by Bedford’s own “Bruise Brothers”, Evan and Beckett Maslanka, but Manchester was able to score after a long drive. Enter the Bulldog offense which came in hot on its first play with Trenton Otero bursting left for a strong gain behind a key block by Gavin McConnell. On the next play, Hudson Schmitt went beast mode, racing 30 yards into the end zone for Bedford’s first score. During the next series, a key defensive strip by Schmitt sent the Dogs back on O. While the 1st half clock evaporated to the 3 seconds mark, Tristin Leck served a pancake breakfast with Sam Doty pouring the syrup, springing Schmitt again for another TD. In the 2nd half, the weather began to warm as the sunshine splashed across this historic gridiron and Bedford’s defense began to grow ever stronger. Hard hat award-winner Gabe Warren anchored a feisty bunch as fellow Dogs Camden Santos, Nolan Murphy, Carter Rick, and Jack Petrosino chased down Eagles as if they were USPS letter carriers. Bedford’s fearsome Black D stopped Manchester’s final drive as all of our Boys of Fall ran onto the field and celebrated. Go Bulldogs!
