Tiny Mite Football A frost covered field at Souhegan High School set the stage for the early morning football tilt as the thunderous paw prints of the Tiny Mite Bulldogs began to crack and melt the surface in an exciting contest against the Amherst Patriots. The Dogs opened up the scoring behind two crushing blocks delivered by Nolan Murphy and Gavin McConnell that sprung QB Hudson Schmitt into the end zone for Bedford’s first score. The Bulldog’s fearsome front line of Evan Laforge, Beckett Maslanka, and Sam Doty opened gaping holes all morning as Logan O’Connell was able to bounce out and display more moves than a Dancing with the Stars contestant as he added a second score in the first half. Camden Santos had a big first-down carry in a diversified attack that featured 9 Bulldog ball carriers and the first pass completion of the year to Drew Redfern. On defense, Jack Petrosino, Gabe Warren, and Carter Rick were ill tempered and rabid as they ripped through the Patriots line to feast on would-be ball carriers. Bedford’s feared “Black Defense” remained unscored upon and tested this season. The Boys of Fall will be back home next week to face Seacoast.

Mitey Mite Silver Football Mighty Might Silver won on the road against a strong Amherst Patriots squad, 18-0. Strong defense led the day, shutting down the Patriot’s Offense with zero first downs allowed. Justin Chiras led the team with tackles, followed closely by Evan Dunker with several open field tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Brady Champagne scooped up a fumble caused by a Nick Polishan / Aaron Chmielecki sandwich tackle. Charlie Cariello cleaned up nearly every tackle from his safety position. Ledger Russell at tackle and Dominic Carey at line-backer will both make the highlight reel with strong plays. Coach Riso’s balanced offense saw big runs from 12 bulldogs, including Ethan Chmielecki, Brady Jackson, Dean Poltronieri, Hunter Crowley, Tyrece Sealey, Zach Elmer and Brody Cassidy. Justin Chiras ran for a touchdown in the 4th quarter, making him an obvious choice to win the bone. Danny Black and Jack Riso ran hard for the other two touchdowns. Danny Black connected with Ronan Ballistreri for two passes, noted by nervous Seacoast Titans scouts in the stands. Kaeden Elmer had some fantastic blocks on the offensive line. We take on the Seacoast Titans next week at home.

Jr. Pee Wee Red Football The Bedford Jr. Bulldogs Jr. Pee Wee Red team remained undefeated after defeating the Manchester Eagles 20-0. The Bulldogs managed to get the ball down to the 9 yard line on their opening possession but turned the ball over on downs. However, on the Eagles first play, Cam Cilley recovered a fumble to give the ball back to the Bulldogs. William Kramer swept it in for a 10 yard TD on the next play behind solid line blocking by Joey Piacentini, Ben Stuart, Matt Vranich, Andrew McGee and Aidan McMonigle. After a 6-0 1st quarter, Owen Christopher opened the 2nd quarter with a 50 yard TD score after losing one of his shoes in the backfield. Kramer got on the board again by

bouncing an off-tackle run outside to convert the PAT to make it 13-0. In the 3rd quarter, Kramer swept right only to be denied by the Eagles D but he turned it back to the left and outran the backside for a 60 yard TD run. Josh Tobin capped the scoring for the day with a bootleg that fooled the Eagles as he ran unabated into the endzone to convert the PAT. The Bulldogs defense was stingy all day only allowing a few first downs and the Eagles never got into the red zone. Graham Frederick, Ryan Guerrette, Thomas Rice, Presley Trento, Christopher and Jackson Buldoc came up with big, timely tackles all day.

plays. First year players Ethan Kemp and Mason Kimball had strong play on the defensive line. Amherst, however, scampered in for one more when Silver got caught on a blitz and Amherst got the edge. It was a tough day for the Bulldogs as they missed a few opportunities that cost Bedford the game. They hope to regroup next week against Seacoast at home.

Jr. Pee Wee Silver Football Bedford Jr Pewee Silver met Amherst on this perfect autumn day. Amherst went ahead early with a sweep that caught Bedford flat footed. Once they regained their composure the Bulldog defense shut the Patriots down with huge tackles by Parker "Diesel" Bromley and TJ O'Connell. Bedford answered with an Evan Cibotti touchdown pass to Aiden "All Day" O'Connell. The PAT was denied. It was an exciting game with the score 6-7 at the half. The second half was unfortunately a stalemate with Bedford unable to capitalize on big

Connor Guibord lead the defense will several nice stops alongside Russ Erwin who was solid defensively. Ryan Allard and Andrew Peicker extended good effort along the defensive line. Amherst led only 7-0 at half but returned the second half kickoff for a touchdown. Junior High League Varsity Football Bedford Jr High Jr Bulldogs had a great Saturday night in Winnacunnet. Arron Skaling turned on his jets to go 60 yards for a touchdown, Mikey Akstin barreled up the middle to get a score, Joey Lupo added 2 dynamic scores, and Jack Grogan broke 5 tackles on a dive to get the first touchdown of his career. The night allowed many players to gain experience that they otherwise wouldn't get as Trevor Soden took his first snaps at quarterback and Ben Sylvain, Nicky Merchant, Patrick Omara, and Alex Bleakly contributed in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity wins. Peter Falvey, Charlie Kenessa Williams, and Nathan Roach won the battle in trenches out muscling the Winnacunnet on offense and Torey Helton, Drake Tompkinson, Hayden Cheney, Steven Watson, and Colby Martel won the defensive side of the ball pitching a shutout. Matthew Schwartz made strong gains at defensive end showing great speed, Patrick Goterch made some nice plays at inside linebacker, and Joey Leary improves every week at the outside linebacker position. Nate Frederick and Jordan Dyer split time at quarterback with solid play and Bedford rolled out of Winnacunnet with a big win. We are on to Lowell.

Junior High League Jr. Varsity Football Saturday Night Lights on a beautiful September evening was the perfect setting for the JV Bulldogs to break-in to the win column for the first time on the year with a 30-8 victory. The Bulldog D was stifling all day limiting the opposition to minimal gains and several 3 and outs with the exception of a couple of broken plays. Tegan Graham provided several big hits playing DT, ILB and even provided a close out tackle on a punt return after his own punt while

also supplying key blocks and a nice catch on O. Time and time again Tyler Spires, Gunner Grant, Jackson Barlow, Mason Brown and Jack Lavoie were tested with the pass and they came up huge with text book coverage and close outs by Brown and an INT by Lavoie. The front seven was stout with pressure supplied by Caleb Boulard, Ben Sylvain, Matt Peicker, Patrick O'Mara, Hunter Ducharme, Connor Winn and Nick Merchant. Total Team Effort was the name of the game as the Offense broke out with a 4 score game with TDs supplied by Aidan Wolfinger on the QB Draw, Kyle Lavigne bruising runs up the middle and Jack Lavoie getting out to the edge. Hard running Alex Bleakley had several nice runs including a 2 pt conversion on the day. None of the runs would have been possible without the enormous holes supplied in the trenches by Evan Dunn, Ryan Charest, Boulard, Winn, Peicker, Sylvain and Graham and key lead blocks by Lavigne. The Bulldogs were on fire from the start and RELENTLESS to the end.
