INTERMEDIATE HURLING DIVISION 2 HURLING LEAGUE Valley Rovers 0.14 V’s Watergrasshill 0.16 Valley Rovers Intermediate Hurlers travelled to Watergrasshill on Saturday last to play their 3rd game of the Division 2 Hurling League. Despite Valleys being short a few of their more senior players the first half was an even affair with Watergrasshill in front at the break on a score line of Valleys 0.06 to Watergrasshill 0.09. The difference in the first half being free taking with Valleys missing 5 score able frees and a 65, while Watergrasshill only missed 1. Once again the second half was an even affair with both team trading scores. The move of Jack Walsh to the 45 proved fruitful for Valleys but Valleys couldn’t bridge the gap and lost on a final scoreline Valleys 0.14 to Watergrasshill 0.16. Best for Valleys on the evening were Willie Burke, Aidan Sheehan and Jack Walsh.

JUVENILE

LADIES FOOTBALL U16’s

UNDER 7’s

Valley Rovers U16 ladies footballers travelled to Dunderrow to face Kinsale in their first match of 2017. While this was a challenge game, the Valleys girls applied themselves from the very start. Playing against a very strong wind, in the first half, Valleys started the stronger and had a goal and a point scored through Nicole Callanan and Ellen Fennelly and before Kinsale raised a white flag. Valleys continued to dominate and lead at half time by 2:03 to 0:04. The second half Kinsale upped it considerably and only some excellent defending by the Valleys backs kept the Kinsale girls at bay. Valleys regained control near the end to finish on a

U15’s Premier 1 Our Premier 1 faced Bishopstown on Saturday in Brinny. With two an evenly matched teams, we proceeded to victory and, with three games played, we have three wins so hopefully we can keep momentum going. U15 C3 Our C3's faced Douglas on Sunday but unfortunately we were defeated. Douglas had a very strong team out against us and unfortunately we did not have our full squad and could not compete like we should have.
