Valley Rovers 1-08 V’s Eire Og 2-03 Valleys qualified for the Senior B Championship Final with a two point win over Eire Og on Sunday last. Valleys had points in the first half from Susan O’Leary and Katie Lynch. However Eire Og struck for two goals before half time leaving the score at the short whistle Valleys 0-04 to Eire Og's 2-02. Valleys held Eire Og to a single point in the second half while Valleys went to score 1-4 with the all-important goal coming from Orla Deasy with time almost up. Valleys now meet Blackrock in the Co Final on Sunday October 29th in Castle Rd at 2pm. Best of Luck to the girls in the county final, hopefully we can go one step future than last year. On Sunday last our Under 15 Footballers travelled to Carrigaline to take on Nemo Rangers in the quarter final of the county championship. In what was an extremely close game throughout it was Valleys who prevailed after extra time. In the first half Nemo played with the wind at their backs and went in at half time up by 2 points on a score line of Valleys 0.05 to Nemo 0.07, In that first half the powerful running of Adam Walsh Murphy and the excellent points taking of Eoin O’Sullivan kept Valleys in the game. In the 2nd half with the breeze at their backs Valleys took over with Captain Cian O’Keeffe to the fore driving him team forward, but in difficult conditions found it hard to score. Valleys kicked 3 points without reply to lead in the 52nd minute by 0.08 to 0.07, however in the 53rd minute disaster struck when from one of Nemo sporadic attacks they managed to score a goal. However great credit to this bunch of lads as they kicked two late points to send the game to extra time on a score line of Valleys 0.10 to Nemo 1.07. In Extra time with players now tiring Valleys introduced a few subs who had a huge impact on the game in particular Ben Humphries and Ciaran McCarthy, both kicking vital scores. In the extra time Valleys kicked 6 points to Nemo 3 to leave the final score Valley 0.16 to Nemo 1.10.

Shandrum won this league fixture earlier in the year with a great display of hurling and our lads knew a strong performance was required in the second half against the wind, as expected Shandrum came out strong and always looked dangerous but similar to the first half Valleys never gave in and fought till the end to take a deserved win. Final Score: Valleys 1-10 - Shandrum 1-05 We would like to thank all that made the journey and assisted on the day, Valleys will play Carrigtwohill in the Final . STRICTLY VALLEYS The last two weeks saw the anxious wait for the U-12 Rebel Og league semi-finals pairings in both P1 & C3’s . When the pairings were made it was disappointment for the C3’s the outcome was that only the top two played off in the C3 leagues, with the lads finishing in the top four in both hurling and football it ruled them out of any future games in C3 . It is worth mentioning that to finish in a strong position in this league was a great achievement by the lads and all involved. This will encourage all to go forward next year and compete strongly at this level. The Premier 1’s was drawn away to Shandrum and made the journey to Newtownshandrum on Saturday afternoon last, this was always going to be a tight and competitive game. We played with the wind in the first half and took some excellent scores matched with excellent performances all over the pitch it was valleys that were ahead going into the break.

Strictly Valleys 2018 are looking for dancers & people to join our committee. Practice will commence November 10th. If Interested contact Rebecca on 0879634344.
