LADIES FOOTBALL
conditions made play very difficult and this reflected in the low scoring on the night. In the first 20 minutes Naomh Abhan dominated possession however they were very wasteful in front of goal. Jane Mulvihill being well tested in goal and determined defensive play, Valley’s withheld the onslaught and on the twentieth minute Orla Deasy scored a goal, followed shortly by another from Eimear O’Regan when she lobbed the keeper. Naomh Abhan responded with a point leaving the score 2.0 to 0.1 at half-time. In the second half Valley’s playing against the wind and rain showed great character, determination and fitness against a physically stronger team. Both teams got three points, Valley’s coming from Eimear O’Regan and Clodagh Deasy. Valley’s backs were outstanding during the 60 minutes with particular credit due to Viv Melia who took a bad knock to the face from the ball but played on regardless. There were 29 girls togged out on the night and with many more absent due to holidays the numbers playing football reflects a healthy adult ladies football club. Two competitions won by June is encouraging and with the Junior Championship about to commence hopefully we can push on and do well in the two county competitions Team : 1)Jane Mulvihill 2)Jess Lynch 3)Katie Lynch 4)Michelle Cottrell 5)Laura Lowney 6)Sarah Dwyer 7)Roisin O Donovan 8)Viv Melia 9)Sinead Dart O Flynn 10)Eimear Kiely 11)Mary A Hawkes 12)Eimear O Regan 13)Orla Deasy 14)Clodagh Deasy(Capt) 15)Liz Bugler

With Rebel og taking a break for a few weeks the lads will be taking a deserved break from both games and training. The lads go into the Reble Og break in decent positions in both the P1 & C3 hurling and football leagues, You can view these on the Rebel Og website under central competitions. What has been a good start to the season we urge the lads to keep practicing their skills during the break as a busy second half of the season awaits? We would like to thank players , parents and mentors for all the great support we receive each week. Enjoy the Break.
