Today's Game Gettysburg continues its postseason push against McDaniel today. All-Time Series The Bullets hold a sizeable 34-7-5 advantage in the all-time series with McDaniel. A 2-1 win by the Green Terror in 2014 ended a seven-game winning streak for Gettysburg in the series, but the Orange and Blue bounced back with a 2-0 win last fall. Last Meeting Gettysburg blanked McDaniel 2-0 last season. Samantha Wright ’17 provided the early offense with a goal in the 19th minute and Philippa Lumsden ’18 smashed home an insurance goal in the 58th minute. Emily Van Horn ’16 set the program's single-season record for defensive saves with her eighth early in the first half. Goalie Haley Mowery ’18 stopped four shots in the win. Last Time Out Senior Samantha Wright netted her second career hat trick in a 5-0 win at Bryn Mawr. The Bullets did not allow the Owls to take a penalty corner or a shot in the contest. Wright tallied a pair of goals just 57 seconds apart in the opening period and picked up her third goal in the 51st minute. Senior Hannah Fitzgerald and sophomore Victoria Umbach also scored in the contest.
Middle of the Pack Gettysburg enters today's game tied with McDaniel for fifth in the conference standings. Only the top five teams advance to the league tournament. The Bullets are seeking their first playoff bid since 2012. Helping Hand Senior Hannah Fitzgerald is tied for second on the program's career assist list. The only player sitting ahead of her is Becky Griffith ’98 with 26. With 79 career points, Fitzgerald is also just three points shy of Amy Washburn ’94 for sixth on Gettysburg's career scoring list. Hats Off Senior Samantha Wright recorded her second career hat trick on Saturday. Wright's first hat trick came against York (Pa.) in last fall's season opener. She has scored multiple goals in four games and has already topped her personal high with 10 this season. Scouting McDaniel... • McDaniel took down Swarthmore 6-3 on Saturday. Gabrielle Yore scored the most goals by a Green Terror player in 13 years with four, including the eventual game-winner with 1:02 left in the first half of play. Christina Gooding and Elizabeth Collyer each posted a pair of saves. Yore was named the CC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday and enters today's game just one point shy of 100 for her career.
