Game Notes OPENING TIP The Bullets play their first home game since Dec. 1 as they take on the 18th-ranked Swarthmore College Garnet in a Centennial Conference tilt this afternoon. ALL-TIME SERIES Gettysburg leads Swarthmore 28-16 in the all-time series that started in 1905-06. LAST YEAR VS. SWARTHMORE Swarthmore earned its first sweep of Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference era last season, capturing a pair of single-digit victories. In the first match-up, Swarthmore used a late 10-0 run to break open a close game and the host Garnet defeated the Bullets 71-62. Matt Brennan shot 7-for-9 from 3-point range and led Swarthmore with a game-high 26 points while Kevin Gladstone ’16 led Gettysburg with 15 points despite playing just 24 minutes due to foul trouble. Cody Kiefer added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bullets. In the grudge match, Brennan scored a game-high 21 points to lead Swarthmore to a 76-69 victory here in Bream Gym. Gladstone scored a team-high 14 points in 17 minutes off the bench for the Bullets while Kiefer notched another double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to go with five assists. LAST TIME OUT The Bullets dropped a 75-40 decision at the University of Scranton in their final non-conference game of the regular season this past Wednesday. The Bullets never led after falling behind 16-5 to open the game as the Royals made seven of their first 10 shots. Scranton would stay hot and finished the night shooting 52.8 percent from the field, including 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from 3-point range. Freshman guard Nick Antolini led the Bullets offensively with 11 points while senior forward Cody Kiefer posted eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Freshman guard Nick Lord added a season-high eight points. KIRKPATRICK HONORED Senior center Tanner Kirkpatrick was recently honored for his performance in Gettysburg’s 68-61 victory over Albright College back on Dec. 30 in the consolation game of the Albright Crowne Plaza Holiday Tournament. Kirkpatrick scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-10 shooting while pulling down

10 rebounds for his third career double-double. He captured a spot on the All-Tournament Team, and most recently he was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week. AMONG THE CONFERENCE LEADERS Kirkpatrick and senior forward Cody Kiefer have established themselves among the Centennial Conference’s leading scorers and rebounders this season. Kiefer enters today’s game ninth in scoring (13.5 ppg) and third in rebounding (7.3 rpg) while Kirkpatrick is 12th in scoring (12.3 ppg) and 10th in rebounding (5.6 rpg). TOUGH “D” The Bullets have made their mark as a tough defensive squad this season. Among the Centennial Conference leaders, the team currently ranks second in scoring defense (64.9 ppg), second in 3-point field-goal percentage defense (30.9%), and fourth in field-goal percentage defense (40.7%). As of the latest NCAA Division III statistical report, released Jan. 3, the Bullets were 19th, 27th, and 41st, respectively, in the same three categories. SCOUTING SWARTHMORE  The Garnet enter today’s game riding a threegame winning streak following its 88-51 victory at Catholic this past Tuesday. Five players scored in double figures for Swarthmore, with sophomore guard Cam Wiley leading the way with 17 points and seven assists.  Swarthmore has enjoyed a strong season offensively and leads the Centennial Conference in scoring with 76.8 points per game. Six different players are averaging at least eight points per game for the Garnet, including Wiley, who ranks third in the conference with 16.2 points per game.  The Garnet also lead the conference in both rebounding margin (14.8) and blocked shots (6.0 bpg). Freshman forward Nate Shafer (2.5 bpg) and junior forward Robbie Walsh (2.1 bpg) rank first and second, respectively, among the conference leaders in blocks.
