Weekly Dry Bean, Pea and Lentil Market News Wednesday, August 02, 2017 - Tuesday, August 08, 2017 Compared to a week ago: Trading activity was slow with good demand. According to the crop progress report August 7, 2017, dry edible peas in North Dakota was harvested at 46%, Washington was harvested at 51%, Oregon was harvested at 54% and Montana was harvested at 76% and Idaho was harvested at 18%. Garbanzo harvest started this week in Washington with average yields and pea yields being reported at 1500-2500 tons. North Dakota had rain last wednesday and sunday which brought some short term relief to crops. Inventories on certain varieties of dry edible beans are starting to dwindle down before new crop arrives.
