Welcome back to the Autumn Term to all of our children and families. We hope you have had a very happy and relaxing summer with time to spend with family and friends. It has been lovely to see the children back in school this week, looking smart in their uniform and ready to learn. A very warm welcome to our new children and families in Year R and indeed across the school—we look forward to working with you as we go forward. Ofsted Report As many of you are aware, we had an Ofsted Inspection at the end of the summer term and received the final letter which we sent to parents before the holiday. The letter is now published on the Ofsted website ior your information. Thank you. Library Reading Challenge It was lovely to hear that children across the school had completed the Library Summer Challenge this year. We celebrated this in Celebration Assembly today and had some lovely book recommendations from the children. Well done to them! Staffing Update Welcome to Mrs Whittington who has started with us in Year 5/6 this week. I know she has had a lovely week getting to know her class and we warmly welcome her to Abbotts Ann. We would also like to say a warm welcome to Mrs Truelove who has joined us as a Lunchtime supervisor. At the end of the term, we said goodbye to Mrs Mel Hall, one of our Lunchtime supervisors. We wish her well for the future. We have also said goodbye to Mrs Burrows, our HC3s Cook this term. We wish her every good wish as she goes onto new adventures and would like to thank her for all her hard work in the school kitchen for many years! When a new cook has been appointed, we will of course let you know. Welcome to Reverend Katrina Dykes I had the honour of attending Reverend Katrina’s licensing as the new parish vicar this week and had the opportunity to welcome her on behalf of the children, staff, parents and governors to Abbotts Ann School. We look forward to working with her as we go through the new school year . Winning Veg! We are delighted to announce that the Abbotts Ann School Gardening Club won ‘Best in Show’ at this year’s Abbotts Ann Summer Fete.
