8/5/13 Jose Morales, Jr. U13/14 Capital Area RailHawks Team Member
Jose Morales, Jr. is this week’s Capital Area RailHawks Player Spotlight. Jose is a member of the U13/14 Capital Area RailHawks Team for the upcoming season in 2013-2014. He started playing soccer at the age of 7 and has played all of his youth soccer with the Sanford Area Soccer League (SASL). He was most recently a member of the 97 SASL Firestorm Red that won the Premier Division in NCYSA in Spring of 2013. This marked the first team in SASL history to win a Premier Division. Jose has had great experiences with the Olympic Development Program, most recently being named to the Region III Regional Team this summer. He also competed in the ODP Interregional Event this past November and traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico in April. Jose credits Jose Hernandez as having the biggest coaching influence on him so far in his young career and thanks his parents for the time and motivation they give him. According to Jose, “my short term goal as a player is to earn a starting 11 spot and be a key player for my team. I would like to be called up to the U15/16 Capital Area RailHawks Academy Team, and also be called for the U-14 National Team. My long term goal is to become a professional player at a young age and play for FC Barcelona.” Jose has high hopes for the U13/14 Capital Area RailHawks Academy Team. “My goals for the U-14 Academy Team are to become one of the best academy teams in our division, win our conference, and qualify for Nationals,” he says. Jose is looking forward to a great year and recognizes what the Academy Program means to him. “For me, Capital Area RailHawks means a great opportunity with an outstanding coaching staff, great teammates, and a promising future ahead for all of us and the Capital Area RailHawks Program.” Best of luck to Jose this year and the U13/14 Capital Area RailHawks Academy Team.
