Lawain started playing recreational soccer at age 5 in Sayreville, New Jersey. Lawain moved up to Classic Soccer at the age of 7and continued to age 16, playing primarily as a striker and a defender. In 2014, at the age of 16, Lawain was privileged to earn a spot on the Capital Area RailHawks Academy, coached by John Bradford. “I am excited about the new season and the challenges ahead, playing soccer at the highest pre-collegiate level”, says Lawain.

Lawain has had many memorable moments over his soccer career including earning ODP Region III pool (top 40) team spots in 2011and 2012. Lawain was invited to represent North Carolina with the ODP National Championship as part of the 96 team. At age 14 Lawain was invited to the Super Y League ODP National Camp at IMG. He also received U.S. National Soccer Training Center Invitations in 2013, and was recognized in the boys Best XI at the Top Drawer Soccer Combine in Raleigh, NC. Lawain’s most memorable accomplishments as a player were playing against the Indian National U17 Team at IMG in 2012; winning the 2014 NCYSA State Cup; and attending the U.S. National Soccer Training sessions in 2014. Earning a spot on the Capital Area Carolina RailHawks Academy U18 Men’s team is also one of his most memorable accomplishments so far. Lawain’s biggest coaching influence came from his U10 soccer coach, Pablo Uriz. “Pablo helped me to develop a love for the game at an early age and continues to support me today,” says Howell. Lawain’s short term goals are to commit to a Division 1 College or University, finish high school with a 4.0 GPA or higher. He aspires to maintain 100% accuracy in defensive stops, passing accuracy, and an average of a goal/assist per game. Lawain has team goals for the academy as well. “My team goals are for our team to win the league, Academy Playoffs, and National Finals Week”. Lawain’s long term goal is to play professional soccer in the MLS or overseas, after earning a college degree. Best of luck to Lawain and the Capital Area RailHawks U17/18 Academy Team this year.
