WEEK ELEVEN After another 0-2 week, the Southern Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team wraps up the 2015 campaign with two non-conference matches against Concordia (N.Y.) College and LIU Post. The Owls will host the Clippers on Tuesday evening and will face the Pioneers on their turf on Saturday afternoon. TEAM RECORDS AND INFORMATION -The Clippers are 3-15 on the season and are currently on an eight-game losing streak. -The Pioneers are 20-8 on the season and are currently on a two-game winning streak. The team has three matches to play before tackling Southern Conn. on Saturday. ALL-TIME AGAINST CONCORDIA The Clippers hold a 8-5 edge over the Owls in the all-time series. ALL-TIME AGAINST LIU POST The Pioneers lead the Owls in the all-time series with a 24-1 record. WEEK TEN RECAP Last week the Owls posted a record of 0-2 and concluded conference play on Saturday afternoon against Stonehill College. Southern Connecticut lost to both Southern New Hampshire University and Stonehill in three straight sets.

-Southern Conn.’s defense ranks second conference in block totals (205) and in block assists (308) and solo blocks (50). -The Owls are also fifth in the league in service aces (152) and in blocks per set (1.77 b/s). -This season the Owls are 2-12 in three-set matches, 3-8 in four-set matches and 1-5 in five-set matches.

GUNNESON AND HAUSER EARN ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Kelly Gunneson and Nicole Hauser were two out of 37 SCSU student-athletes that were named to the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement award for the 2014-15 O’CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN For the second year in a row, seniors Morgan academic year. Epsilon, the National Math Honor Society. LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR Southern Connecticut finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 7-22 and a conference record of 3-11.

GUNNESON NAMED TO NE-10 ALLACADEMIC TEAM Senior Kelly Gunneson was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball All-Academic Team for her work in the classroom and on the court last fall. To be eligible for selection to the IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL Southern Connecticut was selected 12th in the academic teams, a student-athlete must have Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the as voted on by the league’s coaches. 2015 Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball team’s competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.3 cumulative Preseason Coaches’ Poll grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and completed 1.
